<p>For Immediate Release - BERKELEY, CA, April 2, 1997 - April 26 marks the<br />
date of the 7th annual BMUG MacFest. This year MacFest will be held at its<br />
usual site in the Pauley Ballroom on the UC Berkeley Campus. The show will<br />
take place from 10am to 6pm. This year will prove to be the best yet with<br />
such big name vendors as Adobe,Connectix, Aladdin, Dantz, Iomega, Corel,<br />
Wacom, Techworks, Motorola and MANY more. Fir the first time ever, vendors<br />
will be selling product and giving some great deals to MacFest attendees.<br />
Also, come hear first hand about Apple's tremendous changes this year as<br />
Ellen Hancock, Apple Vice President, has agreed to be our keynote speaker.<br />
And if that's not exciting enough, we'll also have Jean Louis Gassee,<br />
founder of Be, Inc. Other conference speakers include industry analyst Dave<br />
Winer, TidBits Editor Adam Engst, MacWeek Columnist Don Crabb, Motorola<br />
Evangelist Bob Levitus and PhotoShop guru Bert Monroy - all cutting edge<br />
Mac people. Our workshops this year will include Basic Mac Techniques,<br />
QuickTime 2.5, Checking out Tempo,Creating Fortune 500 CD's, What to Do<br />
With Your PowerBook Now That You've Got It In Your Hands,and a NisusWriter<br />
Workshop. We'll also be doing our normal BMUG tradition of raffles every<br />
hour on the hour. We'll be raffling off such prizes as hard drives, quick<br />
cams, and for one lucky attendee - a brand new cpu.So come down and join us<br />
for a day filled with fun, info and great specials.</p>
<p>MacFest is free to the public, though we do ask for a donation at the door.</p>
