<p>APPLESCRIPT PRO SESSIONS OFFERED IN NEW YORK CITY AREA</p>
<p>Five-day training event features in-depth coverage of major scripting<br />
applications</p>
<p>Atlanta, Georgia, February 8, 2006--The leading automation training event<br />
AppleScript Pro Sessions will be held in the New York City area for the<br />
first time, with sessions May 8-12 in Secaucus, New Jersey, just six miles<br />
from Manhattan.</p>
<p>This will be the ninth time Shane Stanley of Myriad Communications of<br />
Melbourne, Australia, and Ray Robertson of Scripting Matters of Atlanta<br />
have led the sessions. Joining them again will be Matt Neuburg, author of<br />
AppleScript: The Definitive Guide, Second Edition.</p>
<p>This unique event has drawn attendees from New Zealand, Europe, and Central<br />
America, in addition to the U.S. and Canada. "We continue to get many<br />
requests to come to the New York area," said Robertson. "We will be close<br />
to Manhattan, but still able to offer affordable lodging and food options<br />
so people from elsewhere can attend without excessive expense."</p>
<p>The classes are suitable for both new and experienced scripters, with the<br />
emphasis on practical skills that can be used across a range of<br />
applications. "Exposure to a variety of applications gives users the skills<br />
and confidence to explore further," said Robertson. "The CD of course<br />
scripts is an invaluable resource."</p>
<p>AppleScript is a unique automation technology bundled with the Macintosh<br />
operating system. "AppleScript is one of Apple\'s best kept secrets, and<br />
it\'s saving smart businesses millions of dollars," said Stanley. "In<br />
Tiger, we are seeing AppleScript take an even more prominent role."</p>
<p>The first two days of the sessions provide a fast-paced introduction to the<br />
AppleScript language, along with introductions to scripting the Finder,<br />
QuarkXPress, and InDesign. An entire day is devoted to an in-depth<br />
examination of InDesign\'s scripting implmentation, with subsequent days<br />
covering Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, FileMaker Pro and BBEdit, as well<br />
as OS-related technologies including Automator and AppleScript Studio.</p>
<p>Pricing starts at $1300 for any three days, with a special discounted<br />
package of $1600 for all five days. The early bird rate is available<br />
through March 31, or until the event sells out.</p>
<p>The sessions will be held at Marriott Courtyard Secaucus Meadowlands at 455<br />
Harmon Meadow Boulevard. Parking is free, and there are many public<br />
transportation options for locals, as well as travelers arriving at New<br />
Jersey or NYC airports. Rooms are available at a special price of $149 a<br />
night, which includes broadband internet access. The number of rooms is<br />
limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged.</p>
