- Player3D v1.30
- ==============
-
- June 7th 2000
-
-
- *** Updated public release of Sensaura Player3D utility. ***
-
-
- New features in v1.30
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- * New menu style with icons (like many Microsoft apps)
-
- * Looping mode remembered between sessions
-
- * Minor fix to play/pause/stop/rewind logic
-
-
- Version history
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Version 1.25
- * Support for all EAX 2.0 reverb listener and buffer properties
- * Doppler effect option for moving sound sources
- * ZoomFX properties dialog
- * Selection of the various DirectX 7 software rendering modes (only
- enabled for WDM drivers)
- * Various user interface changes (the most obvious of which is
- starting with an empty view window when no wave file has been
- loaded)
- * Buffers created with global focus
-
-
- Known problems
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- * Other applications and also certain user interface operations in Player3D
- can disrupt the streaming of audio data from the source wave file. When
- this occurs a warning dialog appears. Player3D should be restarted if this
- happens.
-
- * On Windows 95 the toolbar can appear "transparent". This is caused by an
- old version of COMCTL32.DLL. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to
- distribute an updated version of DLL. However, it can be obtained by
- installing latest versions of various freely available Microsoft products
- - including Internet Explorer.
-
- * Pop-up context sensitive help sometime doesn't work in dialogs. If you
- encounter this problem then you need to upgrade the HTML help components
- (see below).
-
-
- Operation
- ~~~~~~~~~
- Player3D should be easy to use! Once you have opened a wave file then playing
- it is as easy as using a CD player.
-
- Selecting Buffer Path enables a sound to be moved automatically in 3D space,
- moved with the mouse in the horizontal plane, or moved in three dimensions
- with the sliders in the Buffer Properties dialog.
-
-
- Disabled options
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Menu items and toolbar buttons may appear disabled. This could either
- be because a wave file has not yet been loaded (window title shows
- "Untitled") or because that option is not available. For example,
- only Sensaura drivers will show the MacroFX option. Only recent
- Sensaura drivers will show the ZoomFX buffer menu item. Similarly, only
- when using sound card drivers that support EAX reverb and/or I3DL2 reverb
- will those menu items be enabled.
-
- The File Devices menu item will only be enabled if you have more than
- one DirectSound device installed in your system.
-
-
- HTML help
- ~~~~~~~~~
- If popup context help does not work in the various Player3D dialogs then
- HTML help must be installed on your PC. Simply run hhupd.exe to install
- the HTML help control version 1.21. You must have Internet Explorer 3.02
- or later installed in addition to running this update for HTML
- help to work.
-
- If you are running Windows 98 or Internet Explorer 4.0 or later then you
- should already have HTML help installed. It is still worth running the
- update to make sure that you have the latest version of the HTML help
- control.
