OBJECTIVE
The objective of Wall-Up is to collect as many points as
possible while directing the different colored balls into a
matching colored slot on the side of the game board.
GAME PLAY
When the game begins you will have four balls that will
enter from the center of the game board. They will be
enclosed in yellow walls which you cannot rotate, however,
you can rotate the other walls by clicking on them with
you mouse. After 5 seconds the yellow walls will open and
release the balls onto the game board.
There are four different colored types of balls which
can enter the game board. For each colored ball, there
is a similar colored slot on the side of the board. On the
first level, there are only 4 balls to direct into the 4
slots. The next level has eight, then twelve and so on up
to 40 balls and 40 slots! If the ball reaches the side of
the board and there is no slot (or a slot of the wrong color)
it will disappear and the next ball will be released onto the
game board. The level will be over when all the balls have
either been placed into the slots or have rolled off the
game board.
In order to proceed to the next level, you must get at
least half of your balls into the proper slots. There can
be only one ball per slot. Therefore on the first level
with four balls, you must fill at least two slots to
continue.
EXPLODING WALLS
Every so often (about every 30 seconds) random walls will
explode and be removed from the board. As the walls start
to disappear, it makes it harder and harder to direct the
balls into their proper slots.
BONUS GRID & DOUBLE POINT GRID
There is a special bonus grid on the board at all times.
It starts with a point value of 10. Each time you can
get your ball to reach this grid, you will have that amount
of points added to your score. The bonus grid will then
move to another location on the game board and will increase
in value by 10. When it reaches 50 it will revert back
to 10 and start over.
At various times during the game, a special double bonus
grid can appear on the game board. If you can reach this
grid before it disappears then for approximately the next
20 seconds you will get double points for any points scored
during this time.
POINTS & SCORING
For every ball you can direct into its proper colored slot,
you will be awarded 75 points ( 150 points if you have
reached the double points grid ) The bonus grid value of
either 10-20-30-40-50 will be added to your score when a
ball reaches it.
A special bonus of 250 points will be awarded if you can
get all of the balls for that level into their proper slots.
When a game has been completed and your score is in the top
ten high scores you will be asked to enter your initials
onto the score board. (The Shareware version of Wall-Up
only allows one top ten score to be added per gaming session.)
GAME STRATEGIES
As you play the game, you will discover many different
strategies for reaching high scores. Here are a few
approaches you might try.
1: When the balls are first released onto the game board
trap or isolate 3 of the balls. You will then have the
time to place the remaining ball into the proper slot
without worrying about the other balls rolling off the
game board.
2: First make sure you have filled at least half the slots
with your balls to assure that you will continue onto the
next level. With the other balls go after the bonus grid
over and over again to gain extra points.
3: Isolate all four balls immediately after they are
released. Then wait for the double bonus grid to appear.
Reach the grid with one of the balls and then put the
balls into their slots for double the points.
There are many other strategies which you will discover
as you play the game. Different levels require different
approaches if you want to reach the top ten high scores.
