  1. Chinese Solitaire for Windows

  6.  This is an original game combining the best elements of Klondike (one of the
  7.  world's most popular solitaires) and Scorpion (a game that offers tremendous
  8.  opportunity for skillful play), with a distinctly Oriental flair.

  10.  Chinese Solitaire is feature-packed, with full statistics, optional "easy"
  11.  mode, autoplay, selectable card backs and colors, great graphics, and
  12.  excellent sound.

  14. Requirements:

  16.  Chinese Solitaire requires Windows 3.1 or later and a mouse.  The game will
  17.  run from a floppy disk, but a hard drive is recommended.  If you want to hear
  18.  the sound effects and background music, you'll need a sound card.

  20.  Chinese Solitaire requires VBRUN200.DLL, which may or may not be distributed
  21.  with the program.  If not, it is available from most BBS's, CD-ROMs, and FTP
  22.  sites, as well as from Microsoft, and from the author's web page at
  23.  "http://www.sky.net/~rrasa/sw.html".

  25. Installation:

  27.  Extract the program files from the distribution archive and put them into a
  28.  temporary directory on your hard disk.
  29.  
  30.  If you wish to use the automated installation utility (recommended), run
  31.  SETUP.EXE, either from the Program Manager "File/Run" menu (in Windows 3.x),
  32.  the Start button's "Run" command (in Windows 95), or from the Win95 command
  33.  line.  The setup program will prompt you to select a destination directory,
  34.  then copy the files and add a Chinese Solitaire group to Program Manager or
  35.  the Start button.

  37.  If you wish to install the program manually, simply create a directory for
  38.  the program (C:\CHINASOL is suggested) and copy the programs into that
  39.  directory.  Add CHINASOL.EXE into Program Manager or the Win95 Start button,
  40.  or run it directly from File Manager or the Win95 Explorer.

  42.  VBRUN200.DLL may be installed in either the Chinese Solitaire directory or in
  43.  the Windows system directory (the latter is recommended).

  45.  If you decide to delete Chinese Solitaire, you may remove it from your
  46.  computer by simply erasing the files from it's directory, and removing its
  47.  group from the Program Manager or Start button.

  51.  The help file (CHINASOL.HLP) contains the primary documentation for the
  52.  program, including rules of the game, background information, information on
  53.  the various options and features, a revision history, and instructions for
  54.  registering the game.
