GEOCLOCK shows the current time (based on your computer's clock) with
a high quality map of the earth. The current sun position is displayed,
and the parts of the earth in sunlight and twilight are highlighted. This
display is automatically updated every few seconds. Local sunrise, sunset,
the sun's azimuth and elevation, and times around the world are also
displayed. A variety of map backgrounds and other options are available. A
graphics adapter and a hard disk are required.
GEOCLK44.LZH (or ZIP) contains all the files required to run the
EGA-VGA-SVGA version of the program. Enter GEOCLK HELP to start the
program and access the on-line documentation and help system.
GEOCLOCK is distributed as shareware. This means that if you use and
enjoy the program, you are expected to register it. The registered version
includes the zoom, distance measuring, and city time display functions, and
at least 25 maps.
Version 4.4 of GEOCLOCK includes the following features that were not
in version 4.3:
1. Support for Orthographic projection (view from space)
2. Addition of Sun rise/set, Sun Az/El, and Sun position information on
Equidistance-Azimuthal and Orthographic maps, even when the HAM functions
are being used.
3. Improved startup and mouse function speed for people using Microsoft
MOUSE software version 7 or higher.
4. SET GEOCLOCK=<path> can be used to set up default drive and directory
for GEOCLOCK maps and data files. Using this, it is not necessary to
make the GEOCLOCK directory the default before running the program.
