  8. This is the first release of my version of GGREP.

  10. Why another GREP?  Well, Turbo C came in and I just *had* to see how
  11. it performed ...

  13. GGREP is a file searching utility which acts much like UN*X's "fgrep,"
  14. but also includes regular expression handling like "egrep" as an option.
  15. (Get it?  E- ... F- ... G- GREP?)  It is reasonably quick and pretty
  16. much true to its UN*X counterpart.  Regular expression handling is
  17. compliments Henry Spencer at the University of Toronto.

  19. This program has a help facility, although it is really nothing more
  20. than an online "man" page you can flip through.  Hey!   That's better
  21. than nothing!  Help may be accessed by invoking it with a "-?"
  22. parameter.  The actual text is read from the GGREP.HLP file; your DOS
  23. "PATH" is scanned to find this file.

  25. This program is covered by various copyrights, but it is free for
  26. you to use and give away.  Don't sell it.  Don't modify it.  Just
  27. use and enjoy it.  If you don't like it, or my implementation of
  28. it, toss it in the bit-bucket.  Whaddaya want for free, anyway?
  29. (The various copyrights are forced on you when you use the help
  30. facility.  Credit where credit is due.)

  32. I hope someone besides me finds GGREP useful.  Since there's no money
  33. involved, what else can a humble programmer ask for?
