CompuServe Executive
CISEXE is an assembly language program originally written for the
Z-100 (I think) and extensively modified by S. Loftesnes and J. R.
Cummins to run on the IBM PC using PC-DOS. Full cursor control is
included in the executive as well as error checking upload/download
using the CIS "A" protocol. It was uploaded by itself and seems to
work OK but read the cautions below.
Several bugs may still be present in the program. One that I haven't
figured out causes the program to "hang" after some (undetermined)
number of downloads are done. I have re-booted, restarted the program
and continued without losing the telephone connection; I hope others
can do the same if it happens to them. There has not been any dialing
or other modem controls put in; this is a do-it- yourself task. The
clocks OK but I think I might move it to a different part of the
screen.
If you use this program or if you modify it please let the authors
know so that we can share the benefits of your labor. It would be
nice to make the executive interrupt driven; also to implement an
ASCII transmit and receive capability (I'll be adding that but don't
plan to upload it.).
A HEX file is (or will be) present for those without the IBM MASM. It
will need to be converted to a .COM file using the CVTHEX.BAS or
CVTHEX.EXE programs.
If I can help leave Email or a note on PC-SIG.
