This utility sorts the directories of DOS 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 disks and
prints the sorted information to fit inside the disk envelopes. You have
to provide your own paper cutter, but the program does the rest. You also
get the amount of free space on the disks and the date. It requires the
IBM or Epson MX80 printer, but the assembly language files can me modified
to fit any printer that offers condensed print and eight lines-per-inch
spacing, if you are skilled at assembly language programming. The seven
.ASM files are included for your convenience.
Please see the Dr.Dobb's article for a detailed description of the
program. Only LIST.COM is needed to use the program as written, but you
may want to change it for your needs.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING LIST.COM
Call the program from a disk in Drive A by typing LIST <ENTER>. The
printer must be turned on. Follow the two requests for information: Type
in the designation of the drive that contains the file to be listed, no
<ENTER>!; then type in the NAME you want to call the list and press
<ENTER>. Sit back and watch. You will get two lists per page from the
printer.
