- Titswinkle, Lost in SPACE.
- The Demo - Volume 01
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- This is the text file that MUST accompany the Titswinkle, Lost in SPACE
- demo. Here I will discuss the reasons behind the demo... and do a little
- trouble-shooting as to why it may not work properly on your machine.
-
- First, I would like to say that this demo is SHAREWARE!!!... That means
- that I hold the Copy-Rights to this demo. I am allowing and encouraging anyone
- to copy this and distribute it to others, so long as no profit is made in
- distributing this demo. Shareware vendors are allowed to place a small fee on
- this demo for shipping and handling and for a disk to put it on. This demo may
- be placed for public downloading on any Bulletin Board System. If Titswinkle,
- Lost in Space is used for ANY commercial purposes (such as a computer shop's
- display window) then this demo MUST be registered. The registration
- information is located at the end of this file.
-
- Some people may have questions as to why I use the name 'White Shadow'
- and why I mention 'software crackers' in the demo's scroller-text. I admit
- that some of these people are pirates but I do not agree with piracy. It is
- true, however, that these people make demos of all kinds. That is why I
- mention them. I try to encourage the actual programming of a computer... and
- demos are a creative way to stretch one's mind and to program.
-
- Titswinkle, Lost in SPACE, The Demo - was made to make what I consider
- 'art' on a computer. It can be used as an attention getter for a computer shop
- (Remember, if it is used this way it must be registered!), but it was really
- made to show myself and others what I can do with an IBM computer.... It would
- be nice, however, to receive some money for the MANY hours of work I put into
- this demo - even artists like to be payed.
-
-
- What systems Titswinkle, Lost in SPACE should work on:
- /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
-
- - Titswinkle will NOT work on an IBM XT.
-
- - Titswinkle REQUIRES VGA... I do not know if it works on XGA.. but it should.
- Write to me at the registration address if you test it on the XGA video card.
-
- - The demo should run fine on any system as fast as, or faster than an IBM AT
- running at 12Mhz.
-
- - If this demo is run on a non-XT machine that is slower than a 12Mhz AT, then
- the colors should rotate much like a television with its Vertical Sync off
- sync.
-
- - This demo was tested with a 'generic' 8-bit VGA card. Other video cards
- should be faster (to write data to video memory) and I tested with the least
- common denominator.
-
- - The demo will (should?.. write me if otherwise) not run any quicker on a
- machine that is faster then the one I did most of the testing on (12Mhz AT
- with a standard VGA card).
-
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- What to do if your machine is running at the proper speed but your colors seem
- off sync...
-
- - Make sure that your machine is running at its maximum Mhz rating.
-
- - Memory managers have given evidence to slow machines down. Try to disable
- these and re-boot your computer... or you might want to boot from a 'clean'
- floppy (i.e. nothing in your AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files)
-

- DISCLAIMER:
-
- I, David J. Cooper, Jr., can not be held responsible for any loss or
- damage that may occur from the use of this program. It is, however, doubtful
- that damage will occur from the use of this demo. This demo should NOT be run
- on any machine with video card other than a VGA or XGA.

- Registration Information <------------------------look!!-----------------------
- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-
- Why register?...
-
- First of all, to support an IBM assembly programmer. There is always
- new equipment that a programmer needs (Music cards, you want sound, don't you?,
- and floppy disks or printer paper to name a few items). Unless the programmer
- makes money from programming, it puts him/her at a financial loss. But, you
- don't want to hear that... You want to know what YOU get out of it.
-
- For registration you will receive, on a 3-1/2 inch disk, my next demo
- in this series. There is not yet a release date for the next one, but upon
- completion the demo will be mailed out directly to you. You will receive the
- demo within a few days of the release date.
-
- The cost for registration is $20. If you live out of the United States,
- please include $5 extra, and all money must be drawn on U.S. funds. Be sure to
- include your address.
-
- For a donation of $5 or more, you will receive news on any public
- programming project that I pursue. This includes registration.
-
-
- Send registration fee (or any other mail) to:
- Dave J. Cooper
- P.O. Box 96

- Thanks...
