What's new and package revisions
Version 5.3 - Fixed minor keyboard incompatibilities on a few
PC clones. Menu keypress selections now case insensitve on all
clones. Find/search feature in PCL.EXE revised slightly.
Version 5.2 - Vendors, VARS, Resellers and Disk Distributors may
request a custom advertising message on the main PC-LEARN splash
screen and possible custom tutorial inside the main package. PC-
LEARN can present tutorial on using that vendors's computers,
equipment, software.
Version 5.2 - Revised installation procedure to allow for
installation to 360K floppies as well as hard drives and high
density floppy disks. A simple black and white menu system is
active when PC-LEARN is installed to a 360K floppy system.
Advanced high speed color menu system used when installing to
other disk systems. Tutorials are the same in all cases.
Version 5.2 - Glossary tutorial section revised. Added tutorial
on telephone support services and getting started with a new PC.
Additional tutorials in planning.
Version 5.1 - Installation allows configuration for floppy
drives of size: 720K, 1.2M, 1.44M as well as hard drives as
follows: C: D: E: F: G:. Added tutorial discussing environmentally
sensitive computing to the end of the tutorial on tips and
techniques. Added tutorial on using shareware for beginners.
Version 5.0 - Added high speed machine code routines assisted by
C++ to produce a menu system with popdown, mouseable driver and
other features. Screen displays adapt automatically to Hercules,
monochrome or color systems on the fly!
Version 5.0 - Upgrade developed in cooperation and research with
U.S. Micro Express Computer Stores of Bellevue, Washington who
is licensed to copy PC-LEARN onto all computers they sell
including a customized screen imbedded in the product which
lists a short advertising message.
Version 4.xx - Upgrade prototypes not released to general public.
Prototype versions for major upgrades starting with version. 5.0
Version 3.74 and earlier - Used compiled batch file menu system.
Monochrome only. No color. Most tutorials complete.
Version 1.74 - Early system. Essential tutorials on DOS, batch
files, glossary and history developed.
Version 1.71 - Very early system beta tested by Mercer Island
Computer club as newsletter articles in club newsletter.
