Using other programs to build hypertext <sum07 1 8>
=======================================
Besides using these workhorse programs,
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
Hypertext │ MaxThink Outline/Idea processor <link27 1 7 > │
construction │ HOUDINI System processor <link27 1 10> │
tools │ HyperLink Hypertext utilities <link27 1 13> │
==== │ TransText Word processor <link27 2 4 > │
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
I also regularly use a dictionary/thesaurus and
grammar/style checker program. Here are my
recommendations.
Spelling/Thesaurus The stand-alone dictionary/thesaurus programs tend to
================== be a magnitude better than those included with most
word processors. I like REF SET from Reference Software.
Besides, it works with all the software I've created.
Compatibility issues REF SET is a memory-resident program that runs with
==================== the above listed software. In addition, all three
formats of spelling checking -- single word, full
screen, and file checking -- are compatible with
MaxThink and HOUDINI file formats. (Press PgDn)
(Press PgUp)
Grammar/style Checking I pass my files through GRAMMATIK-III for a final check
====================== of grammar and style. The program checks for 30 kinds
of errors. It also suggests changes to improve
word usage.
While GRAMMATIK-III won't make bad writing good, it does
make good writing better.
