CLOCK SOLITAIRE
Clock Solitaire is played by dealing the entire deck of 52 cards
in packs of four cards which are then arranged in the order of a
clock. Twelve packs form a circle for each hour and a
thirteenth pack lies in the center of the clock layout. The
top card of the center pack is then turned face up. The
object of this solitaire game is to move the last turned up
card to its respective pack or hour position on the clock dial.
Each card moves to the pile of its own number, jack counts as
11, queen counts as 12, and the king is 13. The king is always
placed in the center of the clock layout. The card is then
placed face up on the bottom of the pack it was moved to. The
top card of that pack is then also turned face up. This card
becomes the next card to be moved to its respective hour
on the clock dial. Play continues until all the packs
are exposed and contain four of kind in each hour of the layout
in which case you have beaten Clock Solitaire. If all four
kings have been exposed in the center of the clock, the game
is over and you lose.
STARTING CLOCK SOLITAIRE
From your DOS prompt, type CLOCK and press the ENTER key. In
order for Clock to run, you must be logged onto the
directory where CLOCK.EXE, CLOCK01.INF, and CLOCK02.INF reside.
TANDY 1OOO
NOTE: If your computer is a Tandy 1OOO, the file "T1KVGA.COM"
may be required to be in memory before playing Clock Solitaire.
If you cannot play this game, install the "T1KVGA.COM" file in
memory first. From your DOS prompt, type T1KVGA and press the
ENTER key. You may then run Clock Solitaire as described above.
PLAYING CLOCK SOLITAIRE
The upper right hand portion of your screen will display a menu
of options. The ShareWare version will have only two options.
You will be able to select any of these prior to playing a
game:
Play
Quit
During the game, these options cannot be selected.
Move the mouse cursor to one of the yellow boxes on the left
side of the available options and press either mouse button.

MAIN OPTIONS
Play
When selecting the Play option, the deck of 52 cards will be
shuffled and the Clock layout will be dealt out. Place your
mouse cursor on the card to be moved. Press and hold the
left mouse button and drag the selected card to its new
destination. Be sure to place the card over the destination
card. More than half of the card being moved should be over the
destination card otherwise you will receive an error message.
If the card to be moved is to be placed on the same pack, just
release the button.
If you wish to quit playing before the game is won, press the
right mouse button. You will be asked to verify if you really
want to quit.
Sound (Registered Users)
This will allow you to turn the sound on or off. The message ON
or OFF will be displayed to the right of the Sound option.
Speed (Registered Users)
This will allow you to change the speed at which the cards are
dealt. The fastest playing speed is a setting of zero (0) and
the slowest speed is ten (10). The default setting is
five (5). The speed setting will be displayed to the
right of the Speed option.
Animate (Registered Users)
This will allow you to either turn off or turn on the card
movement. The game can be played faster when this is turned
off. The message ON or OFF will be displayed to the right of
the Animate option.
Card Back (Registered Users)
Selecting this option will allow you to choose from 16 different
types of card backs. When selecting this option, the current
card back will be shown at the lower right portion of your
screen. Pressing on the left mouse button will cycle through
the backs. Press the right mouse button to use the card
back that is currently visible.
