- The possibilities to what you can do with your stones is
- only limited by your imagination.
-
- My three sons and I enjoy working with rocks. Even though my
- youngest is only 2 years old and loves to throw the stones,
- he goes with us on field trips and proudly presents us with
- the treasures he picks up.
-
- My oldest is almost 10 years old and prefers to tumble his
- specimens. He is quite an expert on creating unique and
- beautiful jewelry out of his stones. His Christmas present
- are always a success.
-
- My six year old brought home a thunder egg from one of our
- excursions. He wanted it to be a vase. So we flattened the
- bottom, hollowed out the top and viola, he had his vase.
- Decorated with some artificial green, we still display it
- proudly in our living room.
-
- Small, broken off pieces from larger stones we keep and
- tumble. We use these little sparkling gems to create
- beautiful mosaics.
-
- Using hand held rotary tools, you can carve larger stones
- into wonderful pieces of art. Cut your name out of stone and
- you have a nameplate like nobody else at the office.
-
- Put some interesting looking, unfinished specimen around
- your house. They are sure to serve as unique conversation
- pieces. Use them as book ends, paper weights, door stoppers
- or whatever else your creativity can think of.
-
- Create a piece of nature. Glue a stone to a wooden base, use
- some artificial green, a flower, a plastic bird and you have
- a centerpiece for the dinner table.
-
- A hobby is a lifelong journey of discovery and learning. Our
- whole family is involved in lapidary. It does not matter how
- old or experienced you are. The beauty of it is, we as a
- family do something together that all of us enjoy. Once your
- interest is awoken in something and you get involved, you
- experience satisfaction and pleasure in return.
