  32.         This document is likely composed of a group of reconstructed
  33.         resource files, or the equivalent in captured on-line data.
  34.         Occasionally I stop to piece something together from my own
  35.         notes, but restricted free time requires that this is rare.
  36.         Hence, the credit for all creative effort usually belongs
  37.         elsewhere.

  40.                              Included File Formats
  41.  
  42.         In order to provide a quality product to as broad a market as
  43.         possible, I have included the same file in three separate
  44.         formats:
  45.  
  46.           .LQ  Microsoft Works 1.05 does not have a driver for
  47.                the Epson LQ-2550, which is my printer of choice.
  48.                Works does have an option for the LQ-2500,
  49.                however, and this has become the standard format
  50.                for my documents. It should carry over to any
  51.                Epson compatible printer that is capable of 12
  52.                pitch proportional sans serif.
  53.  
  54.          .PRN  Assuming that you have an Epson compatible printer
  55.                that rejects the LQ file, this format provides
  56.                simple text enhancements by repeating lines (for
  57.                bold or underline). Do not set the printer for a
  58.                proportional print as any tables or charts will be
  59.                horribly disfigured. This mode will consistently
  60.                print out larger than the LQ file.

  62.          .DOC  Failing all else, the final file is a simple
  63.                unformatted document. With the exception of text
  64.                attributes, it is precisely the same as the PRN
  65.                file. Use this file for on-line reference or
  66.                importing.

  69.                                   Why Bother?
  70.  
  71.         Most people, happening upon a rendering of mine, usually ask
  72.         "Why bother?" or point out "Get a life." I have for years been
  73.         obsessed with the collection and processing of information. This
  74.         document composes a very small part of a personal grimoire that,
  75.         to date, approaches the size of a set of encyclopedias. It is
  76.         like no other reference, containing information as common as the
  77.         control switches for the Norton Utilities, to things as obscure
  78.         as dial-ups for American Military Bases.
