  7. - OUT OF MEMORY ERRORS
  8.  
  9.     'Altered Destiny' checks the amount of free RAM your system has, and
  10.   will not execute the game if there is not enough RAM.  The DOS command
  11.   'CHKDSK' will tell you how much free RAM the system has; the program
  12.   requires about 560k free RAM to run in MCGA mode (less in other modes);
  13.  
  14.   If you don't have enough memory, here are some ways to solve the problem:
  15.     -Remove any non-essential TSR (terminate and stay resident) programs.
  16.     -If you were trying to run MCGA mode, switch to any other mode using
  17.      the setup program.  MCGA uses 32k more RAM to support more than 16
  18.      colors.
  19.     -Switch off the mouse (mouse drivers usually use at least 10k of
  20.      RAM), then run 'SETUP' and request keyboard mode.
  21.     -Make a system floppy disk designed to boot a 'bare bones' system.
  22.      Do this by formatting a blank disk with the command 'FORMAT A: /S',
  23.      then boot the system with this floppy disk.  You can add disk
  24.      drivers or mouse drivers by adding a config.sys or autoexec.bat
  25.      to the system floppy.

  27.     Some of these changes involve changing your CONFIG.SYS and/or
  28.   AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  Consult your DOS user's manual.

  31. -MUSIC SYSTEMS

  33.     If you have a sythesizer that is not listed by the setup program, select
  34.   'GENERIC MIDI', and set your synthesizer to a tone you like (we suggest
  35.   an acoustic piano).

  37.     If you have a non-supported synthesizer, please fill out and return
  38.   your warranty registration card, listing your synthesizer.  An INSTR.DAT
  39.   file that will support more synthesizers is planned for the future.  (You
  40.   will only need to replace the INSTR.DAT file).
