  1. [Install]
  2. The PubTech Installation program requires that you specify the drive and directory in which you want the program installed.
  3.  
  4. The default directory is shown in the edit box.
  5.  
  6. You can type another directory if you desire.
  7.  
  8. The install program will copy the program and auxiliary files to install directory.
  9.  
  10. In addition there are check boxes, as appropriate, where you can specify:

  12. * Modify the AUTOEXEC.BAT file if necessary:
  13. Check this box if you want the file to be modified.
  14. The "PATH=" or "SET PATH=" statement will be modified in order to include the installed program path.
  15. This statement is modified in order to run the program from whatever directory, without the need of changing to the program directory.
  16. If you do not want your AUTOEXEC.BAT file changed, remove the check from this item.
  17.  
  18. * View release notes:
  19. There is information pertaining to this release in the README.TXT file.
  20. You can take a look at this file later with a text editor, or have the installation program display it for you.
  21. If you do not want to review the README.TXT file, remove the check from this item.
  22.  
  23. * Run the installed program:
  24. Once the program is installed it can be run if you select this box.
  25. If you do not want to run the program after installation, remove the check from this item.
  26.  
  27. * Install program as the windows shell:
  28. If you want this program to be invoked automatically when you run windows check this box.
  29. Notice that checking this box will run the program when you type "WIN" and it will replace the current windows shell ( ie. Progman.exe ).

  31. Note: To toggle the check mark in a check box click the left mouse button over the check box.
  32. [Disk]
  33. The install program needs to read a file from the installation disks.
  34.  
  35. The file was not found in the specified drive/directory.
  36.  
  37. The name of the disk where the file can be found is shown in the dialog box.
  38.  
  39. Insert that disk in the drive specified and press return.
  40.  
  41. You can specify another drive/directory if you wish.
  42.
