  2. This README file lists enhancements to the files on the Program
  3. diskette(s).  These enhancements are not yet documented in the
  4. Reference Manual.  Please refer to the README files on the other
  5. master diskettes for additional information.

  7. BACKUP
  8. When you use the Timed Backup feature, LetterPerfect will save
  9. the backup file, LP{LP}.BK1, in the directory specified in Setup
  10. as the Location of Document Files.  If no directory has been
  11. specified, LetterPerfect will save the file in the directory
  12. where LP.EXE is located.   Network users should be aware that
  13. this directory must have read/write rights for the timed backup
  14. file to be written there.

  16. GRAPHICS SCREEN TYPE
  17. The file, STANDARD.VRS, contains graphics screen drivers for CGA,
  18. EGA, VGA, MCGA, and Hercules systems.  This file is used to
  19. access graphics display for the View Document feature.
  20.  
  21. On hard drive systems, the Installation Program places this file
  22. in the directory where LP.EXE is located.  On floppy drive
  23. systems, the Installation Program will create a file called
  24. LP.VRS on the LetterPerfect 2 disk.  LP.VRS contains only the
  25. driver for the graphics display you are using at the time of
  26. installation.  If you change the graphics card or monitor on your
  27. system, you should use the Installation program to reinstall
  28. LP.VRS, allowing LetterPerfect to automatically select a driver
  29. for the new card or monitor.

  31. LANGUAGE
  32. Each time you insert a Language Code in your document,
  33. LetterPerfect places a Decimal Character code [Decml/Algn Char]
  34. (containing the alignment character and the thousands' separator
  35. for that language) immediately after the language code.

  37. OFFICE 3.0
  38. Registered users of Office 3.0 should be aware that the example
  39. macros supplied with that product are not currently supported
  40. with LetterPerfect.

  42. STARTUP OPTIONS
  43. The startup option, /NH, is useful for overcoming problems
  44. starting LetterPerfect on some older AT&T machines (those
  45. equipped with the first version of the Phoenix BIOS).  This
  46. switch will also inhibit the Print to Hardware Port feature.
