  2. The Simple Way to run the game is just unzip all the disks with the 
  3. -d option into one directory, make sure you unzip the disk for your 
  4. graphics adapter last and overwrite any existing files, then run 
  5. PDCONFIG for sound, graphics, and control choices. Then you should 
  6. be ready to go, type PD to play. 
  7.  
  8. BTW: you can delete the sub directories for graphics cards other 
  9. than yours as they are not needed.

  11. The install process below works too but why bother with floppies.

  13. Enjoy the game, there is some nice DIGITIZED speech!

  29.   Follow these instructions to install and run Power Drift:

  31.   Prep:  Get 4 360k floppies, put PD-RAW.ZIP in a TEMP directory
  32.          on your hard drive
  33.  
  34.    I.  Un-Zip PD-RAW's ZIP's to Disk numbers one through four
  35.        (MAKE SURE YOU USE THE -D OPTION TO CREATE SUB-DIRS!)
  36.      A.  PD-RAW-P.ZIP - Power Drift Program Disk (contains
  37.          INSTALL.BAT and PDCONFIG.EXE) - Disk One
  38.      B.  PD-RAW-E.ZIP - EGA Disk - Disk Two
  39.      C.  PD-RAW-C.ZIP - CGA Disk - Disk Three
  40.      D.  PD-RAW-M.ZIP - MCGA Disk - Disk Four
  41.   II.  Install Power Drift
  42.      A.  Put disk one (Program Disk) in your floppy drive and
  43.          type "INSTALL d1: d2:" where d1: is the floppy drive
  44.          letter and d2: is the hard drive letter.
  45.          NOTE: The installation is a simple batch file, so pre-
  46.                sumably, the d2: could be d2:\dirname because it
  47.                will otherwise install Power Drift into d2:\PDRIFT
  48.                which may not be your organization scheme.  Try it
  49.                out yourself.
  50.          INSTALL.BAT will place all the files in the necessary
  51.          directories and leave you in d1:\dirname\PDRIFT and tell
  52.          you to type PD to run it.  Don't.
  53.  III.  Configure Power Drift
  54.      A.  Type PDCONFIG and hit return.  Use the f-keys to select
  55.          what your system configuration is closest to.  As a note
  56.          of advise, the MCGA mode won't work on VGA cards unless
  57.          they suppost MCGA (I'm pretty sure of this, but I forget
  58.          how I got MCGA mode to work on the PS/2.  It does work
  59.          though.)
  60.  IV.  Run Power Drift
  61.      A.  Type PD and hit return.  Enjoy.

  65.   Notes:  Don't forget to delete the stuff in your TEMP directo-
  66. ry, since it will take about one and a half megs to keep around. 
  67. Also, this game seems to take an enormous amount of RAM, so run
  68. it in over 512k systems with nothing else in memory or bust the
  69. 640k wall. (640k systems can't have much taking up memory ei-
  70. ther.)

  79. I know this RUNME.BAT file is a little weak, but we have had this 
  80. game for 2+ weeks and i just wanted to get the information out 
  81. quick, besides you don't download these files to see the neat 
  82. screens from the groups do you, although some of them have been 
  83. preety good recently, INC especially. But oh well, enjoy the game it 
  84. gets boring fast as do almost all games.
