IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR
SOFTWARE REGISTRATION NUMBER
Thanks for purchasing Searchlight BBS. To install this update, you'll
need the registration number provided by us when you received your
original copy of Searchlight (or when you requested a registration
number from us if your original copy was earlier than version 1.74).
Your registration number allows you to use this version of SLBBS and all
future releases, so store it in a safe place when you're done.
Software registration numbers help us protect our copyright while
continuing to provide you with convenient updates by mail and via our
many support BBS systems. You need only insert your valid registration
number via the included REGISTER program to begin using your new version
of Searchlight BBS. Registration takes less than a minute and needs to
be done only once each time you receive an SLBBS update file or
diskette.
To ensure the security of your registration number, we ask that you observe
the following guidlines:
o Please keep your registration password (the last 7 digits of your
registration number) strictly confidential. If asked to provide your
registration number by a Searchlight Software representitive, give
only your three or four digit serial number (the number that appears
when you use the VERSION command after installing your update).
o Keep your number in a safe place, as you will need it to install
future updates. If you do lose your number, contact us and we'll
provide it for you.
o Dealers and support boards should distribute only original, non-
registered copies of Searchlight BBS obtained directly from us.
NEVER DISTRIBUTE OR ALLOW COPIES TO BE MADE OF FILES WHICH HAVE BEEN
REGISTERED WITH YOUR REGISTRATION NUMBER.
o Please don't distribute non-shareware versions of Searchlight BBS on
your bulletin board unless you are an authorized dealer or support
board. You may of course distribute shareware versions and shareware
utilities and door programs (to the extent permitted by the authors of
such programs).
