in your computer. Some adapters have more than one display mode
(resolution and colors) listed, so be sure to make the correct
choice for your system configuration.
There are many pages of display adapter selections from which
to choose. To make the selection, find the desired mode in
the list, and enter the corresponding number. If you already

Note: If you are using a serial printer with PC Paintbrush,
you do not need to use the DOS MODE command to redirect
output to the printer. However, you must set the baud rate
appropriately for the printer you are using.
Paintbrush needs information about the output port your
printer will use. Parallel printer ports can be designated
as LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3; LPT1 is the most common. Serial
printer ports can be designated as COM1 or COM2; COM1 is the
most common.
For more information about output ports, see your DOS
manual. To determine whether you have a parallel or serial
printer, check your printer manual.

PBSETUP is finishing up the installation...
PBSETUP has recorded the devices and settings you specified.
Please put away your original disks.
Whenever you wish to change any of the devices you've set up
with PC Paintbrush, you can run PBSETUP again and change
those settings. PBSETUP has been copied to your hard disk,
and must be run from there to change the settings.
To run PC Paintbrush, you may now type PAINT. An additional batch
file called %s has been created. It allows you to
run PC Paintbrush in the configuration you just specified, without
running PBSETUP again to change back to this configuration.
Note: You may want to set up other subdirectories on your
hard disk for graphics you create with PC Paintbrush.
Follow the procedure described under the MKDIR command in
your DOS manual. When using PC Paintbrush, you can call up
a subdirectory by entering its name in the search directory
line provided by many of the PC Paintbrush options.

device with other programs, select "Preinstalled Mouse (Generic)" in order

If you are installing your drawing device for the first time:
* Select your drawing device from the upcoming list. PBSETUP will
install the driver and run it each time you start PC Paintbrush.
or
* Select "Preinstalled Mouse (Generic)" from the upcoming list. Then
before running Paintbrush, install your drawing device according
to its User's Manual. This is best if you plan on using
it with other programs besides PC Paintbrush.

some special drivers are included on the Paintbrush Driver disk.
