  42.           NOTE:  dtSearch 3.0 for DOS now uses the PharLap DOS Extender. 
  43.           Use of the DOS extender has greatly improved the speed of
  44.           dtSearch for DOS and made it possible to add numerous
  45.           enhancements.  Unfortunately, due to restrictive PharLap license
  46.           terms, we regret that we cannot release a shareware version of
  47.           dtSearch 3.0 for DOS.  DT Software remains committed to the
  48.           shareware market and will continue to explore ways to make a
  49.           shareware version of dtSearch 3.0 available, including the use of
  50.           alternative DOS extenders.

  52.           Registration Information
  53.           ------------------------
  54.                Registration costs $149.00 for either the DOS version or the
  55.           Windows version ($199 for both).  LAN concurrent user and site
  56.           license pricing are available.  Registered users will receive: a
  57.           printed copy of the manual, the latest version of dtSearch, free
  58.           technical support for a year, and notices of updates or upgrades.

  67.           System Requirements
  68.           -------------------

  70.           dtSearch for Windows requires Windows 3.1 or higher, a 386 or
  71.           higher processor, and at least 2 Mb of memory (4 Mb recommended).

  73.           dtSearch for DOS requires DOS 3.3 or higher, a 286 or higher
  74.           processor, and at least 2 Mb of memory (4 Mb recommended).

  76.                The DOS version of dtSearch will just barely fit in 2 Mb if
  77.           there is very little else resident in memory (i.e., hard disk
  78.           caches, network drivers, etc.).  To run dtSearch 3.0 for DOS
  79.           well, you should really have 4 Mb of memory or more so that you
  80.           can have a large hard disk cache, room for other programs in
  81.           memory, and additional memory to use for launching from dtSearch.

  101.                If you are upgrading from a previous version of dtSearch,
  102.           you should install dtSearch 3.0 in a different directory from the
  103.           old version of dtSearch.  dtSearch 3.0 uses a different index
  104.           format from previous versions, so you should not attempt to use
  105.           your old indexes with the new version of dtSearch.

  107.                If you have both dtSearch 3.0 for DOS and dtSearch 3.0 for
  108.           Windows, you can install them in the same directory so that you
  109.           can use the same indexes and setup files for both versions.
