  4.        INSTALLING THE VGA ADAPTER 800x600 and 1024x768 DRIVERS
  5.                FOR VENTURA PUBLISHER VERSIONS 1.1 - 2.0

  8. The following instructions are applicable to users of Ventura
  9. Publisher Versions 1.1 - 2.0 and the VGA Adapter.
  10.  
  11. The enclosed Ventura 800x600 and 1024x768 driver files are installed
  12. AFTER Ventura Publisher has been installed on your system.The drivers
  13. make full use of the 800x600 or 1024x768 graphics modes of the VGA
  14. Adapter. Your VGA monitor must be capable of displaying this
  15. resolution in order to utilize this driver.

  17.           Be sure that your VGA monitor can display
  18.           800x600- and/or 1024x768-pixel resolution.
  19.           Choosing a higher resolution than your
  20.           monitor is capable of displaying will bring
  21.           about unsatisfactory results.

  25. To install your VGA driver, perform the following steps:
  26.  
  27.           1) Follow the Ventura installation instructions.
  28.  
  29.           2) When you are asked to select a video adapter, choose
  30.  
  31.            E IBM Personal System/2 (640x480) two colors. (Version 1.1)
  32.            E IBM VGA or Compatible (640x480) 2 colors. (Version 2.0)

  34.           3) Complete Ventura Publisher installation and see that
  35.              it is working properly using the installed IBM
  36.              driver.
  37.  
  38.           4) Exit Ventura Publisher and insert the VGA Driver
  39.              Diskette in your A: drive.

  41.           5) Log on to your A: drive, e.g.:

  43.                 C:>A: [ENTER]
  44.                 A:>

  46.                 and type VPDRV2_0 [ENTER]

  48.           6) The program will ask you some questions about your
  49.              Ventura configuration. Answer them appropriately.
  50.  
  51.           7) When the program asks you what display device and
  52.              resolution you want to install for, make a
  53.              selection,
  54.  
  55.                 VGA Adapter (800x600) 16 colors or greys.
  56.                 VGA Adapter (1024x768) 16 colors or greys.
  57.  
  58.              whichever is appropriate or desirable for your
  59.              hardware configuration.

  61.           8) The program then asks for the type of mouse you
  62.              have. Respond (appropriately) as you did during your
  63.              initial installation.

  66.           9) Finally, the program displays the choices you have
  67.              made and provides you the opportunity to change. If
  68.              no change is necessary, press [ENTER] or "Y" (the
  69.              default response is "Y") and the driver will be
  70.              installed.

  72.           10) If you desire a change press "N" [ENTER] and make
  73.              your changes.

  75. The driver will then be installed and you can log back on to the
  76. hard disk drive and begin using Ventura.
