  6. This is the READ.ME file for TurboDLD v1.02B. It contains
  7. information that has changed or is different from the Installation
  8. Guide, as well as some other useful tips.

  13. This version of TurboDLDDeluxe only supports the Diamond Stealth VRAM,
  14. Stealth 24, Stealth Pro, SpeedStar 24X, and Viper VLB graphics boards. 
  15. Support for any other EGA, VGA, 8514/A, TIGA, XGA, S3, or Compaq QVision 
  16. board may be obtained directly from Panacea Inc. Please see the end of 
  17. this file for more details.

  20. I - TIPS/ERRATA/FEATURES/REVISIONS
  21. ============================================================

  23. - New File Browser for the Drawing Viewer for AutoCAD Release 12.
  24. Just type "dldview" and a dialog box exactly the same as 
  25. AutoCAD's file open dialog appears. You can select a file to view
  26. and it will appear in the current viewport.
  27.  
  28. - Rendering Resolution options will be available only when
  29. configuring a Rendering device, not directly from the Graphics
  30. Board/Resolution Menu as indicated in the Installation Guide.
  31. Rendering options will appear when AutoCAD R12's AVE Render
  32. is first configured or when configuring 3D Studio or AutoShade.
  33. It      may be necessary to reconfigure AVE Render by using the
  34. RCONFIG command at the AutoCAD command prompt.
  35.  
  36. - For AutoCAD R12 setup, when installing TurboDLD Deluxe into a 
  37. subdirectory other than \ACAD\DRV, you must edit the ACADDRV 
  38. environment variable to point to the TurboDLD sub-directory.
  39. For example, if TurboDLD Deluxe was installed into a sub-directory
  40. on drive C: named TURBODLD, the ACADDRV environment variable would
  41. look like the following:
  42.     SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD\DRV;C:\TURBODLD

  44. - New Features included in this version, Real-time panning,
  45. Drawing Viewer, ZoomPreview spy glass. See your Installation
  46. Guide for complete details on how to use these features.

  49. - When running at greater than 8 bits-per-pixel (256 colors),
  50. setting physical colors via DLDCOLOR will have no visible
  51. effect until an SAVE and EXIT occurs.
  52.

  54. - There is no longer a Remove or Overwrite mode for the Display
  55. List. TurboDLD functions as the Remove mode did in previous DLD
  56. versions, eliminating flashing of erased vectors, without affecting
  57. performance.
  58.  
  59. - The BPCACHE is normally disabled, not enabled as is indicated in
  60. the Installation Guide. Enabling BPCACHE will only make a noticeable
  61. performance difference when using TIGA-based graphics boards.
  62.  
  63. - For those persons with low CPU RAM and less than 20mb of available hard
  64. disk space you should use the -SWAPCHK ON switch to configure AutoCAD. 
  65. This switch will give you the option of saving your drawing when AutoCAD
  66. starts to run out of disk space.   The way you configure this is to change
  67. into your AutoCAD program sub-directory and at the prompt type:
  68.         CFIG386 ACAD -SWAPCHK ON
  69.  
  70. - With the TurboDLD Deluxe configuration,  the Your Own BIOS option referred
  71. to in the Installation Guide is not yet available.  If your video board is 
  72. not listed in the selection of boards, try the Generic option for your
  73. graphics platform.  If you are not sure which platform your graphics board
  74. is based on, please refer to your user's manual or contact the board 
  75. manufacturer for more information.
