Stealth64 Video 2001 Series README.TXT
=======================================================================
Release Notes
-------------
This is v1.04 of the Stealth64 Video 2001 Series Install/Utilities/Drivers
disk set.
DOS Installation Notes
----------------------
We have added a new installation program called GO'95. This still functions
the same as our old installer GO.EXE. Run INSTALL.EXE from a DOS prompt.
You cannot run this application from inside Windows DOS Shell. Once you
have run INSTALL.EXE the GO'95 executables will be on the hard drive (C:).
Please do not discard this diskette. If you have a problem with your
system you may need this diskette.
Please configure your monitor using the "Monitor" option in the main window
of GO'95. This program controls the frequencies sent to the monitor and
will allow the high resolution and high color modes to synchronize correctly
on your screen (for DOS only).
GO'95
-----
GO'95 allows selection of text modes, video emulation modes, and monitor
mode frequencies for all environments outside of Windows. Monitor
timing information is saved and is automatically loaded on power-up or reset.
Users with monitors not conforming to the industry preset monitors
provided can select the "User Defined" option which allows selection
of frequencies, sync polarities, and screen centering for each video
resolution and color depth. Please consult your monitor manual for
the exact capabilities of your monitor before selecting monitor
timing. We strongly urge that selection of monitor timings in
"User Defined" be made for all resolutions and color depths.
In other operating systems, i.e. OS/2, WARP, Windows NT, Windows 3.1, etc.,
GO'95 will disable mouse support, diagnostics, monitor centering, and
DPMS.
Known Limitations (GO'95)
-------------------------
With a mouse driver installed, GO'95 causes intermittent mouse
freezes during useage. Press any key to restore mouse movement.
DPMS does not support any protected mode programs. These
include programs such as AutoCad, Microstation, and games
such as Links 386, Doom, etc.
ACAD Release 10/386,11,12,13 Drivers
------------------------------------
AutoCAD TurboDLD Classic driver has two features:
1. accelerates AutoCAD REDRAWS, PANS, and ZOOMS
2. provides a productive, user-friendly interface
The driver is memory-resident and inserts itself between AutoCAD and the
video display adapter. It has no other effect on AutoCAD's operation
besides graphics acceleration. It runs with AutoShade 2 with RenderMan
and 3D Studio to provide enhanced rendering support. 386 version of
AutoCAD Release 10 and 11 is required.
AutoCAD Release 10/386,11,12,13 Installation:
1. Select INSTALL from the main window.
2. Select desired AutoCAD release driver.
3. Press OK.
4. Select Source drive (A,B,C, etc..).
5. Type target Drive:Directory.
Default drive for AutoCAD 10/11 is C:\TURBODLD.
Default drive for AutoCAD 12 is C:\ACAD\DRV.
Default drive for AutoCAD 13 is C:\ACADR13\DOS\DRV.
6. Press OK.
7. Press Y to modify AUTOEXEC.BAT.
8. Press CANCEL or ALT-F4 to exit.
NOTE:
STLACAD.BAT is created in C:\TURBODLD when you install AutoCAD 10/386
and 11 drivers. For AutoCAD 12/13 your ACADR12 or ACADR13.BAT files
are automatically updated for use with TurboDLD.
If you are installing AutoCAD 10/386 to a directory other than ACAD\DRV,
you must edit STLACAD.BAT file. The installed drive and directory must
be added to the ACADDRV environment variable to display TurboDLD
Classic driver in the AutoCAD video options list.
Example:
SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD\DRV;C:\TURBODLD;
After all AutoCAD drivers are copied to the hard drive, it is necessary
to reconfigure AutoCAD to use TurboDLD Classic.
