  7. Attention! for Windows is a unique presentation program
  8. designed to display moving text messages. It is a small, fast,
  9. easy to use program that will get your message across 
  10. effectively. The program automatically resizes type to fit 
  11. within borders, uses bitmap files as backgrounds, and creates
  12. beautiful gradient fills. With some unique TrueType fonts, 
  13. a few BMP files and a little imagination, you can really wow'em!

  32. This program is shareware. You may use it for an evaluation
  33. period of one month without charge. If after that time, you continue
  34. to use the program, you must pay the registration fee of $25.00 US

  58. Attention! for Windows will create its own initialization file in its
  59. subdirectory. That file is called AT.INI.

  63. System Requirements
  64.  
  65. Attention! for Windows requires a PC running Windows 3.1. For smooth 
  66. animation effects, we recommend an accelerated video card. To see truly
  67. beautiful gradiant fills we recommend a high color video card.

  71. Installing the Program

  73. If you are reading this, the files have already been decompressed. Just
  74. copy them to a new subdirectory. The choose File/New from the 
  75. Program Manager menu. Choose New Program Item and then press the 
  76. Browse button. Find the File AT.EXE and choose OK.

  79. Uninstalling the Program
  80.  
  81. Delete the AT Icon from Program Manager. Then erase the files
  82. on the File List above. Attention! for Windows does not modify
  83. your WIN.INI or SYSTEM.INI files in any way.

  86. Demonstration
  87.  
  88. After Installing the program, double click on the AT icon to 
  89. start it. Choose File/New and pick WELCOME.ATN from the list.
  90. Press the Play button (if you are using the keyboard choose
  91. Control/Play.) The demonstration presentation will
  92. begin.

  94. To Pause the display press the Pause button (if you are using
  95. the keyboard choose Control/Pause.)
  96.  
  97. To modify a line double click on it (or with the keyboard
  98. highlight it using the up/down arrow keys and press enter.)
  99. The dialog box that opens allows you to pick the text you want
  100. to display; the effect type, speed and direction; colors; bitmap 
  101. backgound files; display time and day. the window at the bottom of 
  102. the box gives a sample of how the line will look. After modifying
  103. the line press OK to return to the main window.

  105. Press the Play button again. Use the mouse to resize the Show
  106. Window. Also you may move the Show window by just dragging it 
  107. with the mouse.

  109. Press the Stop button to remove the Show Window
  110.  
  111. To delete a line from the presentation, click on the line 
  112. with the mouse (or with the keyboard use the up/down arrow 
  113. keys) then press the delete key.

  115. To add a new line to the presentation, choose Edit/New
  116. and complete the dialog box.

  118. To move a line in the presentation, click on the line 
  119. with the mouse (or with the keyboard use the up/down arrow 
  120. keys) then choose Edit/Cut. Move to the line above where 
  121. you want the line moved and choose Edit/Paste
  122.  
  123. To copy a line in the presentation, click on the line 
  124. with the mouse (or with the keyboard use the up/down arrow 
  125. keys) then choose Edit/Copy. Move to the line above where 
  126. you want the line copied and choose Edit/Paste

  128. You may also use drag and drop to copy and move lines. To
  129. copy hold down the Control key while dragging. To move hold down
  130. the shift key while dragging.

  134. Options
  135.  
  136. The options menu allows you to modify the behavior of Attention!
  137. for Windows.
  138.  
  139. The Minimize On Show Command is a toggle. When selected there is
  140. a check mark to its left. When checked, the main Attention ! 
  141. window will be reduced to an icon whenever the Show Window is
  142. displayed. When unchecked, the main Attention ! window is always
  143. displayed.

  145. The Play On Open File command is a toggle. When selected there
  146. is a check mark to its left. When checked, the  Show Window will 
  147. be displayed whenever a new file is opened. When unchecked, you 
  148. must press the play button to start a show when you open a new file.

  150. The Controls Always Visible is a toggle. When selected there is a 
  151. check mark to its left. When checked, the VCR controls will 
  152. remain visible even when the main Attention ! window is reduced to 
  153. an icon. When unchecked, the VCR controls are only visible when 
  154. the main Attention ! window is displayed.

  156. The Ignore Dates command is a toggle. When selected there is a 
  157. check mark to its left. When checked, all lines of the presentation 
  158. will play regardless of  "Play Days" setting of the line. When 
  159. unchecked, only those lines that meet the Play Days criterion 
  160. will play.

  162. The Window Border command is a toggle. When selected there is a 
  163. check mark to its left. When checked, the Show window will have 
  164. a standard resizing border around it. When unchecked, the Show 
  165. Window will have no border around it.

  167. The Show Window On Top command is a toggle. When selected there is
  168. a check mark to its left. When checked, the Show Window will stay 
  169. on top of all other windows (this includes windows for other programs.
  170. When unchecked, the Show Window behaves as a normal window.

  172. The Save Settings On Exit command is a toggle. When selected there is
  173. a check mark to its left. When checked, options and window
  174. sizes and locations will be stored in the AT.INI file when the
  175. program is exited. When the program is restarted all the settings
  176. will be restored.
