  5. General information:
  6.  
  7. Information about installation:
  8.  
  9.         If you have problems to install from disk you can also copy it into
  10.     a directory on your hard disk.Then assign a drive letter to this
  11.     directory by the SUBST command. Please refer to the MS DOS manual.
  12.  
  13.         If you have installed a Windows network version, there may occur 
  14.         problems resulting from the configuration. The miro software 
  15.         has to be installed at the corresponding actual  working place. The 
  16.         installation program has to be able to copy drivers, applications and 
  17.         configuration files to the local Windows directory of the computer at
  18.     the working place. Furthermore it is neccesary that the local files 
  19.         SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI, CONTROL.INI and MWINTOOL.GRP can be
  20.         modified / overwritten. 
  21.  
  22.         If you change your old graphic board by a miroCRYSTAL 
  23.         graphic board or if you change one miro board by another, 
  24.         you should reconfigure Windows to VGA. In this way  you avoid 
  25.         that a wrong driver may run on your new graphic board when 
  26.         starting Windows and that your system may crashe. Install the 
  27.         driver for the new board in the VGA mode.

  30. Installation under Norton Desktop:
  31.  
  32.         If you use the Norton Desktop instead of the Microsoft 
  33.         Program Manager the miroWINTOOLS group (MWINTOOL.GRP) 
  34.         which the installation program generates may not be 
  35.         integrated in the Norton Desktop. Either start 
  36.         the Program Manager (PROGMAN.EXE) as a symbol before (!!!) 
  37.         starting the installation program or integrate this 
  38.         group manually in the Norton "Quick Access" group after 
  39.         the installation. Therefore open the drive window containing 
  40.         the Windows directory and the "Quick Access" window 
  41.         and drag the MWINTOOL.GRP file from the drive directory 
  42.         window to the "Quick Access" window. Also refer to your 
  43.         Norton desktop manual.

  46. Information on Windows:
  47.  
  48.         Up to now the miroTINTCONTROL-Tool works only in 8 Bit
  49.         color depth.
  50.  
  51.         If you have problems by playing AVI files please act as follows:
  52.  
  53.         1. Please assure that you install MS Video for Windows 1.1d version
  54.         or a newer one.
  55.         If you don`t install it there is no video accelaration.
  56.         When the installation was correct there are the following
  57.         lines in the file SYSTEM.INI in your [driver] section:
  58.  
  59.         VIDS.DRAW=udh.dll
  60.         DCI=DISPLAY
  61.  
  62.         
  63.         2. Copy the files from CD to your hard disk to obtain better performance.
  64.         3. Please defragment the hard disk by the help of DEFRAG.EXE.
  65.         4. You should use 32 Bit access mode concerning IDE hard disk drives.
  66.   
  67.        The error description "This is no miro graphic board" is due to the miroPinboard. 
  68.        This Pinboard has been loaded in the win.ini file by another miro graphic board. 
  69.        The miroVideo 12PD does not support the miroPinboard. 
  70.       
  71.         If you have problems with the scrubbing under adobe premiere 1.1 please
  72.         check that you have set the dithering option under project-preview-option.
  73.  
  74.         If you move a box or a windows over a running video file, some
  75.         delay may happen.
  76.  
  77.         In the 1152x768x8 resolution a scrabbled display may appear sometimes, when 
  78.         an AVI file is playing.If you move the avi windows, the error disappears.
  79.         
  80. Information about interrupt allocation with the PCI-board:
  81.  
  82.         When booting the miroVIDEO 12 PD requires an interrupt channel from the mainboard.
  83.         With elder mainboards this has to be done manually in
  84.         the mainboard setup utility or by setting jumpers on the mainboard.
  85.         Please read your mainboard manual and make sure that you select a free
  86.         interrupt channel.
  87.         With newer mainboards (e.g. Intel Plato) the interrupt channel 
  88.         allocation is done by the mainboard BIOS. Conflicts with other
  89.          ISA-boards using the same interrupt channel are possible. In this case
  90.          you have either to reconfigure the ISA-board or
  91.          (if possible) tell the mainboard BIOS by the help of the setup utility that this
  92.          interrupt channel is already used by another board.
