  6. Release Notes
  7. -------------
  8. This is v1.05 of the Stealth 64 DRAM Install/Utilities/Drivers disk set.
  9.  
  10.  
  11. AutoCAD 10/11/12 Installation Notes
  12. -----------------------------------
  13.  
  14. To install TurboDLD, run the GO.EXE program from DOS.  The GO.EXE
  15. will install the drivers into the proper AutoCAD directories.  If
  16. you have changed your directories from default you will be
  17. prompted for the appropriate directories.  A file called S64ACAD.BAT
  18. will be created in the directory that you have chosen as your install
  19. directory, C:\ACAD\DRV for AutoCAD 12 and C:\TURBODLD for AutoCAD 10
  20. and 11, by default.
  21.  
  22. To select the newly installed driver run:
  23.  
  24. ACAD -r from the C:\ACAD directory.
  25.  
  26. Then select 3 to change the video driver.  
  27.  
  28. You will be prompted with a list of video drivers, 
  29. select the TurboDLD Classic driver.
  30.  
  31.  * If you do not have TurboDLD Classic as a listed option then
  32.    you may not have your AutoCAD enviroment variables set properly
  33.    or you are out of environment space.  Please refer to your
  34.    AutoCAD manual for troubleshooting techniques.
  35.  
  36.  * Your refresh mode is set by using S64DMODE.  If you have not
  37.    already done so please run the DOS program C:\S64D\UTIL\S64DMODE and
  38.    configure your monitor properly.
  39.  
  40. For features and notes about TurboDLD please refer to the file
  41. READ.ME in the appropriate AutoCAD directory on your hard disk.

  44. DOS Installation Notes
  45. ----------------------
  46.  
  47. Use the GO.EXE file to install DOS/CAD drivers, and Utility files.
  48.  
  49. S64DMODE should be installed for all first-time operations.  This program
  50. controls the frequencies sent to the monitor and will allow the high
  51. resolution and high color modes to synchronize correctly on your screen
  52. (for DOS only).
  53.  
  54. Utilities
  55. ---------
  56. S64DMODE.EXE allows selection of text modes, video emulation modes, and
  57. monitor mode frequencies for all environments outside of Windows.  Monitor 
  58. timing information is saved to the S64DMODE.EXE file and is automatically
  59. loaded on power-up or reset.
  60.  
  61. Users with monitors not conforming to the industry preset monitors
  62. provided can select the CUSTOM MONITOR option which allows selection
  63. of frequencies, sync polarities, and screen centering for each video
  64. resolution and color depth.  Please consult your monitor manual for
  65. the exact capabilities of your monitor before selecting monitor
  66. timing.  We strongly urge that selection of monitor timings in CUSTOM 
  67. be made for all resolutions and color depths.
  68.  
  69.     Known Limitations
  70.     -----------------
  71.  
  72.     DPMS does not support all protected mode programs. These
  73.     include programs such as AutoCad, Microstation, and games
  74.     such as Links 386, Doom, etc.
  75.  
  76.     No 16 color modes are supported.
  77.  
  78.  
  79. Windows NT v3.1
  80. ---------------
  81. You must have Windows NT installed with the Standard VGA driver (640x480x16).
  82. If you are running a different graphics mode please re-configure for Standard
  83. VGA.
  84.  
  85. Once you have confirmed that you are running in Standard VGA, place the
  86. Stealth 64 Disk 1 into the floppy drive.
  87.  
  88. Open the Windows NT setup icon located in your Main program group.
  89.  
  90. Select Options | Change System Settings...
  91.  
  92. Scroll down to the bottom of the Display option and select
  93. "Other Requires manufacturers Diskette."
  94.  
  95. You will be prompted for the location of this diskette. The location is
  96. A:\
  97.  
  98. Select Close.
  99.  
  100. Select your preffered resolution.
  101.  
  102. You will be prompted for the location of a OEM Disk, this is the Disk 1
  103. and the path is A:\
  104.  
  105.  
  106. Close out of the Windows NT setup, you will need to restart Windows NT for the
  107. changes to take effect.
  108.
