  1. IMPORTANT - ABOUT EasyHelp from EON SOLUTIONS

  4. Make sure you read the file DISCLAIM.TXT

  6. This is version 2.5 of EasyHelp for Word 6.0a.
  7.  
  8. This is a fully working and uncrippled version. Try it out, but
  9. after 30 days (or so) you should either register the product
  10. or remove it from your machine.
  11.  
  12. If you have any initial queries or would like information on
  13. registering, please contact me (see the Support section in this file).
  14.  
  15. A version to produce HTML files is available.
  16.  
  17. Version 3 of EasyHelp will be a fully compiled addin to Word 6.
  18.  
  19. Version 2.31 of EasyHelp is for Word 2.0c - it is freeware.
  20.

  24. IMPORTANT - TO GET IT WORKING
  25. ---------

  27. To complete the installation you MUST run the tutorial by clicking on the
  28. EasyHelp Tutorial icon in the EasyHelp Program Manager Group.
  29.  
  30. (This icon loads INSTALL.DOC into Word which installs the EasyHelp template
  31. and then automatically loads the tutorial document).

  34. EasyHelp: Quick Start
  35. ---------------------
  36.  
  37. If you are an experienced computer user you may want to get going quickly.
  38. If this is the case, at least read this page! If you are not an experienced
  39. user please install EasyHelp, read the manual and browse through the online
  40. help. Then load the tutorial document to learn how to use EasyHelp.

  42. Installing EasyHelp:
  43. --------------------

  45. 1    Run a:setup to install EasyHelp.
  46.  
  47. 2.    Run the tutorial from the tutorial icon.
  48.  
  49. Preparing to use EasyHelp
  50. -------------------------
  51.  
  52. 1     Load Microsoft Word.
  53.  
  54. 2     Create a new document based on the EasyHelp template.
  55.      or
  56.     Load an existing document and then attach the EasyHelp template
  57.     to it.  
  58.  
  59. 3     Quickly check that EasyHelp is configured correctly by clicking on
  60.     the configure icon on the Word toolbar. (Or select Tools | ⌐
  61.     Configure EasyHelp from the menu)

  63. Using EasyHelp
  64. --------------
  65.  
  66. 1    Create some topics by positioning the cursor on the heading of each
  67.     topic and clicking the topic icon on the Word toolbar (Or select
  68.     Insert | ⌐ EasyHelp Topic from the menu)
  69.  
  70. 2     Create some links (to the topic that you have defined) by
  71.     highlighting the text that is to be used as the link and clicking
  72.     the link icon on the Word toolbar (Or select Insert | ⌐ 
  73.     EasyHelp Link from the menu)
  74.  
  75. 3     Your document is now 'marked up'. You must now process this 'markup'
  76.     by clicking the process icon on the Word toolbar (Or select Tools
  77.     | ⌐ Process Markup from the menu)
  78.  
  79. 4    Finally build your help file by clicking on the build icon on the
  80.     Word toolbar (or select Tools | ⌐ Build Help from the menu)

  82. Thats it! You have now created a Microsoft Help file by following four
  83. simple steps:
  84.     
  85.     1. Create Topics    (T) 
  86.     2. Create Links        (L)                 
  87.     3. Process the 'markup'    (P)
  88.     4. Build the Help file    (B)

  92. This evaluation copy of EasyHelp is fully working but the online help
  93. and tutorial are slightly out of date. Register and you will
  94. receive the up to date documentation.
