Intro
-----
NewFish is a program that appends the contents files to the database.
With this program you can also delete any disk, create the most
current Version info and sort the whole database.
Installation
------------
There is nothing special about it: just be sure you have NewFish
in the same directory level as Aquarium, and if you're running it
from the CLI you must be in the same directory. Be sure that you
have in the LIBS: directory the req.library 2.5 or higher from
C. Fox.
Using NewFish V2.6
------------------
NewFish is a program to read the contents files of the Fish's disks
and append them to Aquarium's database.
Add - this command add the specific file to the Aquarium database.
You aren't asked to add each item.
it is now supported, if the contents file contains more
then one disk that you can add it in one step.
Remove - with this command you call a second menu with many other
commands.
Mark - mark all items on a specific disk for deletion.
Remove - remove the delete info for a specific disc.
Small - remove all unnessecary datas ( 56 bytes of NULL for
each program ) from the database.
Is this Gadget off, NewFish appends all Nullbytes
the the datablock.
Go - delete all items that you have marked from the database
Cancel - leave this function do nothing.
Drive - set the name of the drive from where you want to load
the contents file.
Default = DF1:
Name - set the name of the contents file
Default = contents
Sort - sort the whole database according the Library Disk number
Find - find out all missing disks in this database started after
the lowest number up to the highest.
Key - define the most current key
Create - create the most current flag for the whole database
Set - set a keyword or string on which the defined keyflag
should be on.
any valid definition is for example:
Game (key)
Game (string) -or-
C (key)
Source in C (string)
all strings are case insensitive and when we have found
this string in the database the keyflag is turned on.
any 'invalid' definition is for example:
C (key)
in C (string)
because for the line
"in combination with" (from LibDisk 5)
the C-key is also on.
Define - load all keyword defined in the set selection and search
in the database for this string and if found turn on
the specific key in the current entry.
Clear - turn off a specific key in the database. With the key ALL
all keys are cleared in each entry
Auto - read each new inserted Disk
Copy - create a backup for each modified file
Small - add the program datarecord without the Nullbytes. See above.
Extract - extract a specific diskrange to a new database. So you
can split the database onto two disks.
Join - append a second database two the current. If you become
the Aquarium database from a Disk user and you have a HD
so you can join all splits to one new database.
Files - in this window you can define for each file in the database
the current and the backup name.
Quit - leave the NewFish program.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all. If you have any suggestions or thoughts around this program,
please don't hesitate to contact me.
