PublicService - A Unique Screen Clock
Tired of clocks which merely tell the time? If you're an office worker with
a union (like our Australian Public Servants) you know that the most
important thing in your day is the break, smoko, whatever you want to call
it. This clock will inform you exactly how much longer you must stare out
the window (or do whatever you're paid to do) until that all-important
break arrives. If it should catch you at your Amiga outside office hours or
during a break, you will be suitably admonished (the next version will
report you to your union!)
All times are contained in the data file PublicService.dat - the example
here should be modified and copied to s:. The file format is:
S start time
M morning tea start and finish
L lunch start and finish
A afternoon tea start and finish
Q quitting time
If the terms "morning tea" and "afternoon tea" are unfamiliar to you, I'm
sorry. You can either:
- Edit the text in the program
- Acquire some Australian/English culture!
Although the window is completely overwritten by the text, it does in fact
have a close gadget on the extreme left.
