  1. (If you read German, you'll know that LiesMich means:  ReadMe).
  2.    Günter Kirrbach did this file setup, plus a translation of program
  3. text (and file names).  It covers mostly roads in West Germany.
  4.    There are a LOT of cities and roads in the respective files.
  5. There will be a distinct pause after the files are loaded, while 
  6. the program links everything together.  Once that job is done,
  7. the road calculations will go pretty fast.
  8.    Many cities will have names you might not recognize from their English
  9. counterparts.  For example, the city we call Munich will be shown
  10. as München, which is what it's called in Germany.
  11.    About those "funny" characters:  even without a German keyboard, you
  12. can create them easily once you know the trick.  Those two dots above
  13. vowels ("umlaut", as in München) are produced this way:  before typing
  14. the 'u', or whatever, press ALT-K.  Then type the u and get ü.
  15. similarly, the ß character (sounds like "s") is made by pressing
  16. ALT-s.  Thus:  Straßburg, the city you (and the French) might know
  17. as Strasbourg.  Ya gotta get used to it:  Moskau,Rußland is Moscow.
  18. And if you wanted to look at the city file, städte, you must know
  19. how to type that ä.  Good journey, and be careful on those autobahns.
