Soft Span BBS provides an electronic mail system for private communication
between users of the system. Whether sending or receiving mail, there is
more than one way to accomplish your task. This file will first describe
the "long" way which will walk you through the necessary steps.
First, enter MAIL at the main prompt. You will see the following:
Electronic Mailroom
(S)end mail, (R)ead mail, (U)ser list or (Q)uit?
The 'U' option is effectively the same as the LOG command. See that command's
help file for more information on obtaining a full or partial user list.
Choosing 'S' allows you to send mail to a specific user. You will see:
Send mail to >
Enter the name of the user to whom you wish to send mail. If all goes
well, the user will be found in the user log. You will then be prompted
for the message's title. After you enter the title, you will enter the
editor. For more information on editing a message, see the appropriate
help file.
If you choose 'R', you will begin reading messages addressed to you, if any.
At the end of the message there will be the following prompt:
NQR=?>
Enterring 'N' will delete the message you just read and go on to the next
message. Enterring 'Q' will exit the read system. '=' causes the current
message to be re-displayed. Finally, '?' Gives brief help on these options.
To respond to the person who mailed you, select 'R'.
Of course, choosing the (Q)uit option will return you to the main menu.
Quick alternatives - enterred at the main prompt
