The CONFIG command is used to configure the BBS to your terminal's abilities
and needs. To edit your terminal parameters, enter CONFIG at the main menu.
The following parameters may be selected:
1) Linefeeds
2) The [MORE] prompt
3) Terminal type
4) File transfer protocol
5) Number of screen columns
6) Number of screen lines
7) Computer type
In addition to the above list, the current setting of each parameter is
displayed on the appropriate line. To change any parameter, enter the number
associated with it. For example, press 5 to change the number of screen
columns. When you are done with your selections, enter 0.
Each of the parameters are briefly described below:
Linefeeds - If your terminal needs linefeeds, choose YES for linefeeds
[MORE] prompt - If you choose to have the [MORE] prompt, at the end of
a screen of text, "[MORE]" will be displayed and the BBS
will pause. Hit any key to continue from this point.
Terminal type - If your terminal supports ANSI standard terminal emulation,
select ANSI. Otherwise, choose TTY. This option determines
whether you get the line editor (TTY) or the full-screen
editor (ANSI only, not yet implemented).
File protocol - If you choose none, you will only be able to download
and upload text files. Otherwise, select a standard
file transfer protocol which will allow you to download
and upload binary files as well as text.
Screen columns - Enter the maximum number of text characters that can fit
on a single line of your terminal. This information will
be used by the BBS in determining when to word-wrap text.
Screen lines - Enter the maximum number of lines of text that can fit on
your terminal's screen. This value is used if you selected
the [MORE] prompt.
Computer type - Choose from the list available the type of computer which
you use most often.
