  9.     JForth Professional - Version 2.0
  10.  
  11. The most significant new feature of JForth 2.0 is Clone,
  12. the "Optimizing Target Compiler".  Clone examines a
  13. compiled Forth application, and build a new executable image
  14. containing only the code and data needed.
  15. Clone can create applications as small as 3K.
  16. Size and execution speed compares favorably with 'C' programs.
  17. Cloned programs may be distributed without royalties.

  19. Other new features include:

  22. Source Level Debugger with breakpoints, and single step.
  23.  
  24. Precompiled, dynamically linkable modules for 'include' files,
  25. and the Assembler and Disassembler.  Now structure definitions
  26. won't take up space in your dictionary.

  28. Hashed Dictionary for 2-8 times faster compilation.
  29. Small programs compile in a few seconds so your productivity
  30. is improved.

  32. Command Line History like the Amiga DOS Shell (built in
  33. so that the Forth word KEY works properly).

  35. User Assignable Function Keys.

  37. IFF Support for read and write, plus simple bitmap animation system with
  38. blits, wipes, and fades. This makes it easy to use
  39. images from paint programs in your applications.

  41. New Forth Vendor Group Standard 32 bit FFP and 64 bit IEEE Floating Point
  42. using Amiga libraries.
  43. Support for transcendental functions, enhanced number formatting,
  44. plus many optional extensions.

  46. ODE, the Object Oriented Development Environment, now allows
  47. nested objects as "instance variables".

  49. Numerous new tools and utilities including Serial I/O, sample
  50. applications and new graphics demos, documentation generator,
  51. etc.

  57. JForth is a 32 bit, '83 standard Forth.
  58. It is an interactive programming environment
  59. that allows you to call any routine or examine
  60. any data structure interactively.
  61. Small programs can be compiled in a few seconds for fast development.
  62. Unlike traditional Forths, JForth compiles directly to 68000
  63. machine code for significantly faster execution speed.
  64. JForth allows you to call any Amiga
  65. library routine by name, completely insulating
  66. you from the details of 68000 register assignments, etc.
  67. Amiga structures can be referenced with automatic sizing
  68. and sign extension like in 'C'.
  69. Programs can be written
  70. using either normal text files or traditional
  71. BLOCK files.

  78. a suggested list price of $$179.95.  Registered JForth 1.2
  79. users can receive a full upgrade to 2.0 for $$50.00
  80. AND the ORIGINAL "EXTRAS" disk (the one with the executable
  81. JForth image).
  82. A "Clone Only" upgrade is also available for $$10.00
  83. for one disk with documentation on disk.  We strongly recommend, however,
  84. that people get the full $$50 upgrade because of the other new features.
  85. (A new HMSL disk that uses the new JForth features
  86. is available to registered HMSL users for $$10.
  87. HMSL is an experimental music language based on JForth.)
