How to use ParNet with this disc and the CDTV
=============================================
To use Parnet with this disc it must be installed on the Amiga
computer which will be connected to the CDTV. Instructions for
installing ParNet on the host Amiga can be found in the
'ParNet.doc' and 'ReadMe' files located in this folder.
The CDTV and the networked Amiga must be connected with a special ParNet
cable. THIS IS NOT A STANDARD PRINTER CABLE. Instructions for the making
a suitable cable can be found in the 'Cable.Doc' file located in this
drawer.
This disc is preconfigured for ParNet as UNIT 1. It is assumed that the
Amiga which will be attached to the CDTV is UNIT 0. If this is not the
case the 'ParNet Switch' script will not work properly. When using the
disc with the CDTV ParNet can be activated by simply double clicking
on the 'Activate ParNet' icon at the root level of the disc.
This disc is 'CD0:'. To access this disc from the Amiga networked to
the CDTV from a script or CLI issue the following commands:
NETPNET-SERVER UNIT 1
MOUNT NET:
CD NET:CD0
Optionally you can copy the COPY_TO_AMIGA script to the AMIGA and
use it to start ParNet.
When this is done an icon for 'NETWORK' will appear on the workbench
screen. We have set up this disc to have a workbench icon. When you
open the 'NETWORK' disk you will see an icon for 'CD0', this is
The Fred Fish Collection on CD ROM' disc running on the CDTV.
We would like to thank Doug Walker, Matt Dillon and John Toebes of
The Software Distillery for their permission to use ParNet on this disc.
