- The Complete Morph v2.10 - READ.ME Document.
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Thanks for taking interest in The Complete Morph!
-
- Contained in this file are short bursts of information that I will
- through togather as I work on CMorph. So you may find this info.
- real useful. Then again, maybe not, but here's what's in here:
-
- - Known bugs
- - General notes from the author
- - Common problems & solutions
- - Registration
- - CMorph Pro! -- Commercial version
- - Differences in new versions
- - Special thanks
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- KNOWN BUGS:
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- - NONE -
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- General notes from the author:
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- - DFV is shareware, and is not-registered. PLEASE register this great
- software if you use it. For registration information, just run DFV
- with no command-line parameters (only distributed with registered
- versions).
-
- - Make sure that the GETYN program is in the current directory or in the
- path when you run the DEMO.BAT program.
-
- - The new DOS4GW.EXE will not work with the CImage v3.11 (another
- product). It will not allow some users to access VESA modes. Make
- sure to use the DOS4GW.EXE that came with CImage.
-
- - All output images (except GIF) are stored as uncompressed 24-bit
- images, and PCX files are stored as RLE compressed 24-bit.
-
- - See the documentation for a list of planned future updates.
-
- - All the files for CMorph should be located in the same directory,
- and that directory should be placed in your PATH. However, I
- understand that another path entry can sometimes make your path too
- long for DOS to handle, so, see the file CMORPH.DOC to get some
- information on avoiding this problem.
-
- - In the non-registered version, you get an animation compiler and a
- player. This combination will only play-back monochrome animations.
- This is NOT a limitation of CMorph, though. The output images (with
- the exception of GIF files) are all written out in 24-bit true-color
- format. The color information is there, but it just gets stripped
- out during the compilation process by ANIMCOMP. So if you have a
- different program that can take a set of image files, and build an
- animation file out of it, then you can see these morphs in color.
- One such utility is called DTA (Dave's targa animator). This utility
- is great for creating autodesk FLIc files.
-
- - CMorph used to require the -M parameter to specify the mesh file
- name. This is no longer necessary. You can just type the mesh file
- name without prefixing it with '-M'.
-
- - When warping only, the final image that gets saved is the destination
- image. You may want to keep this in mind when generating warp images
- and/or animations.
-
- - Raytech BBS (located in Scottland) is no longer allowed to accept reg-
- istrations for CMorph.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Common problems and solutions:
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- There only seem to be two problems that people run across when using
- CMorph. I added automatic detection for the first, leaving only one.
-
- Out of memory errors -- CMorph comes with built-in Virtual Memory.
- If you experience memory problems, PLEASE read the section in the
- documentation on "Virtual Memory."
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Regitration:

-
- Extra features only available in the Registered/Pro versions:
-
- 1. Complete FLI support to generate FLI/FLC/FLX/FLH/FLT files
- right from withing CMorph. These animation files cover
- the spectrum from 8-bit to 24-bit full-color animations.
-
- 2. A separate program that also has builds the entire suite
- of FLIc files.
-
- 3. An image convertion utility that will convert to and from
- IPI/BMP/PCX/TGA/IMG/GIF.
-
- 4. More cool demos!
-
- To learn how to register, look in the CMORPH.DOC file at the end, in
- the section titled: "HOW TO REGISTER."
-
- Two ways to register on-line with your credit card:
- 1. SWREG forum on CompuServe (registration ID #1629)
