  5. This is the MPEG-I-Audio Tester running under DOS. It informs
  6. you about the coding parameters of MPEG-I Audio-only files.
  7. It can't handle MPEG-system-streams so far.
  8.  
  9. It was compiled with DJ's DOS-port of GNU's GCC-compiler,
  10. called DJGJJ Version 2.5.8 and NDMAKE Version 4.5.
  11.  
  12. The DOS executable in this distribution is named MP2INFO.EXE
  13. and there is a batch-file called MP2INFO.BAT for those that
  14. are not familiar with the DJGCC-package.

  17. NEEDS

  20. Version 1.0 of MP2INFO is compiled with a newer version
  21. of DJGPP, the executable is now running under DPMI (so even in
  22. a Windows-DOS-Box), but still needs at least a 386-machine.

  24. The 32-bit-extender 'GO32.EXE' for DOS has to be somewhere
  25. in the PATH. If running on a 386, the 387-emulationfile
  26. 'EMU387' has to be, where the environment variable GO32 is
  27. pointing to, so if the emu-file is in D:\LIB enter:

  29.   set GO32=emu d:/lib/emu387

  31. and then just start the program by typing

  39. Please do not recommend any big changes or any new versions
  40. of this program. Its working all right, doing its job and
  41. there is really NO need in enhancing it. But, if it should
  42. not work on any DOS-system, please report it with a complete
  43. description to the e-mail-adress below.
