  6. Heavyload is inteded to stress all resources of a PC (like CPU, RAM, harddisk,
  7. network, operating system, etc.) in order to test, if it will run reliable
  8. under heavy load. This is useful for testing important NT file or database
  9. servers before using them productively, or just to check if your new PC might
  10. get too hot when used intensively.
  11. To stress your PC or server, HeavyLoad writes a large test-file to the temp
  12. folder, it allocates physical and virtual memory and it draws patterns
  13. in its window.

  16. INSTALLATION

  18. No installation reqiured, just place the files of the zip archive at a place
  19. you want and start heavyload.exe.

  22. TIPS & ANNOTATIONS

  24. * HeavyLoad uses our Freeware TreeSize in an infinite loop to produce
  25.   additional activity. More infos about TreeSize at:

  28. * When you used HeavyLoad, memory will be fragemented and the swap file could 
  29.   become quite large. So you should restart Windows after using HeavyLoad.
  30.   
  31. * HeavyLoad is not finished after a certain time. You should run it as long
  32.   as you want to test your PC or server, at least several hours.
  33.   
  34. * If HeavyLoad has not been terminated normally, e.g. becuase of an unstable
  35.   PC or operating system, a large testfile HLOADTEST.DAT may be left in one 
  36.   of your temp directories on your PC.

  42. the complete archive. If you decide to use it, you must send us an e-mail or a
