Welcome to MMWave. This is the sequel to MP32WAV Professional v1.0,
2.0 and 2.0 (DLL). The decoder engine has been totally re-written
and new stuff has been added.
MMWave is now a standalone application based on SoundBytes Denmark's
MMWave« 2 decoder engine, very small, faaaaast and superb output
quality. In MP32WAV Professional 2 (DLL) the users had the ability
to choose output quality and decoding parts. This all now happens (almost)
automatically in MMWave, so the user doesn't have to worry about
output quality and decoding parts. But now you have the ability to
change Mapping Mode. This feature existed in the old NAD player, and
now its available in MMWave to. MMWave regognizes 5 different encoders
when you choose Autodetect. If you don't know which encoder that has
been used to create the MP3 file you have, then set the encoder to
choose automatically or "Xing / Misc. encoder". MMWave screens the
files and try to locate the encoder that has been used. If MMWave don't
regognize it then the default settings are used.
The "range decoding" has also been removed, the new is "intro
decoding". This enables the user to decode a custom time from
the MP3 file. Eg. it could be nice just to decode the first 10 seconds
of your MP3 files.
All MP3 files which are decoded by MMWave has different output sizes.
This is the new thing in the MMWave« 2 decoding engine. Not as all
other decoders, all output files has the same filesize. This even
affects if two files are encoded as for example: 128Kbps/44KHz/Joint.
Here's the big deal in using MMWave. MMWave screens the MP3 file
and try to identify the used encoder, if MMWave succeed in the
identification MMWave continues. If MMWave not are able to find
any encoder signature, then default "Xing / Misc." encoder is used.
Supported encoders are:
XingMP3 encoders (excl. the new VBR)
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Audio Layer 3 codec (incl. Producer PRO 1 and 2)
Tord Jansson BladeEnc v0.7x+
Alberto Dimechelis Plugger+ v0.4+
All MP3 encoders uses the *free* ISO codec scheme
You can now also drag and drop files into MMWave from the explorer
or any other filemanager app.
How you use MMWave is not really difficult, just choose some files
and hit "MP3 -> WAV". Thats it. Note that you can't decode MP3 files
that has a wave header, before decoding these files, go and download
AMP3ENC 2 - Release 2 or higher, and select the "Wave MP3 Ripper".
You can also change the background graphics within MMWave, to do this,
just make some bitmap files with the names: main.bmp and player.bmp.
These can be in sizes from 10x10 to 100x100 in millions of colors.
The file "main.bmp" sets the background for the Main Form and the
progressbar and the file "player.bmp" sets the background for the
Mini MP3 Player Form and its progressbar. The images will automatically
Tiled, when used just as you know it. Place the files in the same
directory as "mmwave.exe". MMWave automatically loads them if they
exists.
If you want some information on a MP3 just click on it in the filelistbox
or in the joblist. The estiminated output size is taken from this settings:
44KHz 16-Bit Stereo/128 Kbps/Stereo.
To launch the Mini MP3 Player just doubleclick on a MP3 file in the joblist.
Note! You can't listen and decode MP3 files at the same time.
Online updates:
You can now update MMWave to the latest version using the update utility
that comes among with MMWave. Have a look in the MMWave\Update directory
and run the .EXE file for online updates.
Well I guess this is enough for now. If you want some help, then goto
our homepages (www.soundbytes.dk) and send us an e-mail or two.
/NGin
PS! If you discover any problems while decoding into the root of a drive,
then try to remove the "\" sign and it should look like this: C: or D:
and NOT C:\ or D:\ Sorry for this inconvinience.
