- PALBOOT: This program installs a special bootblock which allows PAL
- ------ programs to be seen fully on NTSC Amiga's fitted with the
- SUPER AGNUS Chip.

- For instance - if you have a bunch of EuroDemos which were written for
- PAL/European video mode Amigas, you can't see about the bottom half
- inch of the display since it's not properly displayed on American/NTSC
- Amiga monitors. Put your EuroDemos on a disk and run PALBOOT on that
- disk which will install a special bootblock. Now reboot on that floppy
- and if you have the 1-Meg "Super Agnus" chip installed you'll be
- flicked into PAL mode. Then run your demos and they should display
- properly so you can see the entire screen. Should work for European
- games too providing the boot blocks don't conflict with anything the
- game requires. After rebooting on a PALBOOT-written disk you may have
- to diddle with your vertical hold monitor knob (usually on the front
- of the monitor under a flip-down panel) in case the picture rolls.
- This worked okay for me - check out STAR*FIGHT'S "SAMDEMO" in the library
- for an example- using the PALBOOT trick, you will now see all kinds
- of messages and a neat little "LCD" display that Maurice built into his
- demo which you can't see when running his demo in regular NTSC Video mode.
-
- note: you also may want to adjust your monitor's vertical height control.
- so you can see the whole picture. on my 1080, there is a hole in the back
- that you can stick a flathead screwdriver in to adjust vertical height. on
- my friend's 1084s monitor, it automatically configures itself for this
- adjustment.
