  2.                 THE FINAL FRONTIER - DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION

  6. Unlike  most  other  disk-mags,  THE FINAL  FRONTIER  is NOT  Public  Domain. 
  7. However,  the  disk  are  freely  distributable,  as  long as  the  following
  8. conditions are observed.
  9.

  11. 1.  This mag must  be distributed in it's  entirety - no files, software, art 
  12.     or music  must appear  on compilations  or magazine  cover-disks  without 
  13.     prior WRITTEN permission.
  14.  
  15. 2.  All the disks for  each issue must be distributed  together, i.e. Issue 1 
  16.     must be spread as a two-disk set and NOT as single disks. 
  17.  
  18. 3.  The mag must not  be distributed in any form, altered or otherwise, other 
  19.     than those released by THE FINAL FRONTIER. Consider ALL other versions as
  20.     PIRATE copies  and they should be  avoided at all costs. Distribution  on
  21.     Bulletin Boards  is permitted  as long as  ALL the  files/disk  structure 
  22.     remains intact.

  24. 4.  The magazine must NOT be converted to any other computer or released as a
  25.     paper  zine  without  WRITTEN  permission.  If  you  do  so  without  our 
  26.     permission, you are breaking the law.
  27.  
  28. 5.  PD Libraries:
  29.     -------------

  31.     If you run  a PD Library  and you want  to include THE  FINAL FRONTIER in 
  32.     your range then you MUST buy a  copy of the  magazine direct  from us. It
  33.     isn't really a  lot to ask as it  will only cost  you £4 for this  3-disk 
  34.     issue and you WILL be making a profit on it's sales. You can still obtain
  35.     the magazine from other libraries or any of  your swappers, but  you must
  36.     NOT  sell it  without buying  your  own  copy. We are  not  trying to  be 
  37.     difficult, it's just that this issue took over 6 months of VERY hard work
  38.     to create and we don't like seeing anyone cashing in on this.
  39.  
  40.     Any P.D. library  may buy and stock the  disk as long as the  disk is not
  41.     altered or the files are split on to separate disks and that no more than
  42.     £2 per disk (or the equivalent in other currencies or if the mag is being
  43.     sold as part of a set of disks) be  charged. If you normally  charge more 
  44.     than  £2 per  disk and would  like to distribute this, please contact  us 
  45.     first. We  may want to  operate a Licenceware-type  scheme similar to the 
  46.     one used by the CRUSADERS.

  48.     Also we ask that you send us a  copy of your  catalogue/catalogue disk so 
  49.     we can see how you are  describing this mag - it's just out of curiosity,
  50.     really! I  mean, you will be  making money out of us so the least you can 
  51.     do is let us know what you're saying about us!

  53.     Any shops that sell PD may distribute this disk as long as it is not sold
  54.     for more than £1.50 per disk. I have seen shops charging as much as £2.50
  55.     a disk  for PD and  this is not  acceptable. It doesn't  take more than a 
  56.     minute or so to copy a disk onto an unbranded disk that probably cost the
  57.     shop about 40p. Again, as with PD libraries, you must first obtain a copy
  58.     of this magazine directly from us.

  60.     All these guidelines  also apply to Issue 1 and  ALL future issues of THE 
  61.     FINAL FRONTIER.

  63. 6.  ALL the files  on this magazine  are copyright of  THE FINAL FRONTIER. If 
  64.     you wish to use any of the art, music or articles etc. on any of your own
  65.     disks or in any traditional paper fanzines, you must first obtain WRITTEN
  66.     permission from us. Please note that  we ARE interested in allowing paper
  67.     zines to  reprint  some  material, possibly  in the  form of  an  article 
  68.     exchange system  where you get  some of our articles and  we get some  of 
  69.     yours!

  71. 7.  The disk may NOT be distributed by the following PD libraries:-

  73.     3RD BASE PD - We have  heard that your collection was established through
  74.                   theft and fraud.
  75.  
  76.     AKORE PUBLIC DOMAIN/SHAREWARE - Your  prices are too high, and  you still 
  77.                                     expect  your customers  to pay  EXTRA for 
  78.                                     postage!
  79.  
  80.     PUBLIC DOMINATOR - You simply charge FAR too much for "free" software.
  81.  
  82.     SENLAC - Why do you have to charge £3 a disk for all the latest releases,
  83.              while charging  a fraction of  that for the  others? You're  not 
  84.              going to get extra profit like that out of us!
  85.  
  86.     PD SOFT - Issue 1 stated quite clearly that  it must not be sold for more
  87.               than  £2  a  disk,  but   you  still  decided   to  ignore  our 
  88.               restrictions and you  sold the magazine  for £2.50 a  disk. You 
  89.               are, therefore, BANNED  from selling  all issues  of THE  FINAL 
  90.               FRONTIER, past, present and future.

  93.     If you run any of the above and  you would like to distribute this  disk, 
  94.     contact  me  at  the  address  below  and  maybe  we  can  come  to  some 
  95.     arrangement.

  99. As I said, this disk is Freeware, but we would welcome any donations that you
  100. want to make. Any  cheques etc. should be made payable to  "Simon Plumbe" and 
  101. ALL money received will go back into  the production of the mag.  Although it
  102. is freely  distributable, our costs are high with  sending out free issues (a 
  103. four disk  issue will  cost us  over £2  to send  out, and  that is  for each
  104. contributor, and  that is only for contributors  within the U.K!!), providing 
  105. competition prizes, etc. It all costs money! Thanks.
