  16. ÈThe   new   Amiga  600  is É "a  very
  17. upgraded  Amiga  500"È which includes
  18. the  ECS  for  2MB  Chip  RAM.   The
  19. mother  board will hold the 2MB Chip
  20. RAM  as well as an additional 1MB or
  21. 4MB  of  Fast  RAM  by  using either
  22. 1Mbit  or  4Mbit chips respectively.
  23. Stock  systems  will  ship  with 1MB
  24. Chip  and  1MB  Fast RAM.  The Amiga
  25. 600  brings  up  the  low end with a
  26. 68000  CPU  that  clocks atÉ 14.3MHz.
  27. ÈAddressing Fast (system) RAM at this
  28. speed  makes  the Amiga 600 twice as
  29. fast   as  the  Amiga  500  in  most
  30. operations.  The A600, housed in the
  31. standard low-profile A500 case, also
  32. comes   standard  with  one  builtin
  33. High-Density  floppy drive which can
  34. read/write   standard   Amiga   880K
  35. floppy  disks  as  well as the Amiga
  36. 1.76MB  É High-Density  format. È  The
  37. Amiga 600 also includes the standard
  38. serial,  parallel, dual mouse ports,
  39. dual  audio, floppy drive port, NTSC
  40. video and expansion bus as the Amiga
  41. 500.  Pricing adhears to traditional
  42. A500 low-end pricing stratagy.

  45. Ê    AMIGA 2200
  46.  
  47. ÈÉA   "killer   no-nonsense"È  midrange
  48. Amiga  system  is finally here.  The
  49. Amiga  2200  is actually more like a
  50. "slightly  scaled  down Amiga 3000."
  51. Housed  in  a  box which is actually
  52. smaller  than  the A3000's case is a
  53. mother board which holds a 68020 CPU
  54. clocked at 14.3MHz.  There is also a
  55. socket  for  an  optional 68881 FPU.
  56. This  is  a  "real  32  bit"  system
  57. running on a 32 bit memory bus.  The
  58. Amiga   2200  includes  the  ECS  to
  59. support  2MB of Chip RAM.  Up to 8MB
  60. of  additional Fast RAM may be added
  61. to  the mother board using 4Mbit RAM
  62. chips  (or  2MB  RAM using 1Mbit RAM
  63. chips).   Stock  systems  will  ship
  64. with  1MB Chip and 1MB Fast (system)
  65. RAM.   A  de-interlacer  circuit  is
  66. included  on  board  as well as a 32
  67. bit   SCSI   hard   drive  interface
  68. similar  to  the  A3000.   There are
  69. three  expansion slots including two
  70. full 32 bit bus expansion slots "ala
  71. A3000  style" on a verticle daughter
  72. board  and  a  direct  CPU expansion
  73. connector  which can take a 68030 or
  74. 68040  CPU  accelerator.   The Amiga
  75. 2200's low-profile, compact case has
  76. room  for  two internal 3.5" drives.
  77. Stock  systems will ship with either
  78. one   1.76MB  High-  Density  floppy
  79. drive  and a 52MB Quantum hard drive
  80. or  two HD floppy drives.  I/O ports
  81. include  standard  serial, parallel,
  82. dual  mouse ports, dual audio, SCSI,
  83. floppy  drive  port,  NTSC video and
  84. de-interlaced   31KHz   video.   The
  85. Amiga 2200 with hard drive is priced
  86. substancially    less    then    the
  87. A3000/16/50  which  is  being phased
  88. out   of   production.   È The  Amiga
  89. 3000/25  will  continue  as the high
  90. end  of  the Amiga personal computer
  91. line.È

  101. ÈAn  all  new  line of powerful Amiga
  102. WorkStations  is  now  ready to leap
  103. Amiga  computing to a new high level
  104. of   processing   capability.    The
  105. AmigaStation line initially includes
  106. three   basic   models.   All  three
  107. models   incorporate   the  Motorola
  108. É68040 È CPU,  32bit  SCSI-2 hard disk
  109. interface, ECS, video de-interlacer,
  110. WorkBench 2.0 and contain up to 32MB
  111. of  system  RAM on the mother board.
  112. Additionally,   All  models  include
  113. enhanced  digital  audio  capability
  114. which  inludes  dual  channel  8 bit
  115. audio  output  at  up  to  44Khz and
  116. single  channel  16 bit audio output
  117. at  up  to  22 KHz sample rate.  All
  118. models  also come with the option of
  119. ÉUNIXÈ System 5, Rlease 4 which can be
  120. pre-installed.  An EtherNet board is
  121. available   for   standard   network
  122. interface capability on all models.

  124. The  High-End  A4300,  housed  in  a
  125. "Tower Style" case, incorporates the
  126. ÉMC68040 È CPU  clocked  at 25MHz, 8MB
  127. system  RAM, 2MB ESC Chip RAM, 330MB
  128. hard disk, 1.76MB floppy drive and a
  129. high  resolution  coprocessor  based
  130. video graphics card with 1280 x 1024
  131. pixel  resolution  and  8  bit color
  132. from  a  24  bit palette.  Video RAM
  133. expands  to  support  24  bit  color
  134. displayed  from  a  24  bit palette.
  135. System RAM can be expaned to 32MB on
  136. the mother board which also contains
  137. five   32bit   expansion  slots  for
  138. further    memory   and   peripheral
  139. expansion.   The video card occupies
  140. one  expansion  slot.   A CPU direct
  141. slot supports an optional high-speed
  142. cache   memory   card.   The  system
  143. enclosure  provides  room  for  four
  144. internal  3.5"  drives and two 5.25"
  145. drives.   I/O ports include standard
  146. serial   and  parallel  ports,  SCSI
  147. port,   NTSC   video,  de-interalced
  148. video,  high  resolution  RGB video,
  149. dual mouse and dual audio ports.
