  8. Two charts in one. Every issue will have two regular charts, the first being
  9. the Reader's Chart of all your favourite episodes etc. The second will 
  10. feature the retail video sales for tapes from both the original series and 
  11. the Next Generation.

  19. Fairly obvious,  this one.  Put simply it's  our regular (ha!)  chart of your 
  20. favourite (and least favourite) episodes  from the original  series, the Next
  21. Generation and the films.

  23. To send in  your votes  just write in, on a separate piece of  paper to other 
  24. correspondances with your name and address on the back, to the usual address

  56. ALL the  votes we receive  will be  counted towards the  charts so  get those 
  57. votes in for issue 2.

  59. Please note that all of the  two-part episodes or the  double-length episodes
  60. (The  Menagerie,   Encounter  At  Farpoint,  The  Best  Of  Both  Worlds  and 
  61. Redemption)  are to be counted  as ONE episode  so only  use one  vote up  on 
  62. these.

  64. Hopefully, by  issue two we  will be  able to run  a free prize  draw for all 
  65. those who vote - I'll see what I can do. It will probably be  free issues for
  66. the first three votes or so, drawn at random.

  68. The charts  aren't all that  representative this time,  as we've only had the 
  69. contributors voting. They should be more accurate by the next issue though.

  91. Well, what can I say? It seems that almost everyone loves those little fur 
  92. balls! Not surprising really and it is probably the most well known episode 
  93. ever, even outside Trek fandom!

  110. No one  seems to like Spock's  Brain do they? The  problem with  this episode
  111. probably lies with the fact that the writer, Gene L Coon (under his pseudonym
  112. Lee  Cronin)  wrote Spock's  Brain  as a  comedy episode,  but producer  Fred 
  113. Freiberger  decided that  Trek was supposed  to be a  serious show  so it was 
  114. re-written without the humour. Oh, dear!  
  115.  
  116. It wasn't a  suprise, with  just a few votes, that The  Way To Eden tied with 
  117. Spock's Brain. It's  difficult to swallow a  concept of hippies in  space who 
  118. burst into  song at the drop  of a hat! This is  also one of the few episodes 
  119. that actually shows it's age.... badly!

  137. If you've seen this episode, you'll see why it's so popular! Like The Trouble
  138. With Tribbles,  Deja Q is played strictly for laughs, and that's  why I think 
  139. it works so well.

  141. What did surprise  me was the  number of season  3/4 episodes in  the chart - 
  142. mainly when you consider that virtually ALL of our votes  came from people in
  143. the U.K. where only the first two seasons have been transmitted.

  183. This is no surprise  at all. The popularity  of Data has to  fall down to two
  184. points - there are some superb stories  written for Data, and Brent Spiner is
  185. a fantastic  actor. What was suprising was  the number of votes. Brent Spiner 
  186. picked up over half of the total votes in this category!
  187.  
  188. Not surprising that Worf  comes in second. With  stories such as  SINS OF THE 
  189. FATHER and REUNION, how can you not like this guy?

  200. as if Nicholas  Meyer films are popular with him being involved in two of the 
  201. top three!

  212. Not too surprising this one! Sadly,  it is generally agreed  amongst Trekkers 
  213. that  The Motion Picture is  the worst film, the main  reason being that it's 
  214. too damn long!! The real problem with it is that scenes were extended to show
  215. off the  effects and the scenes that  advanced the plot were  left to fill in 
  216. the odd gaps!  That's why many  fans re-named it  "Star Trek: The Slow-Motion 
  217. Picture"!! With  saying that, the re-edited  version is far better as over 20
  218. minutes of plot and character scenes were added.

  220. Interestingly enough, NO ONE voted for STAR TREK II as the worst film!
