- Hi--
-
- Here is what you have just downloaded. This ARC file contains the
- following files:
-
- - mCAD is an outstanding Computer Aided Design program written for the
- Amiga by Tim Mooney. This is version 1.2.2, the latest as of 6 March 1987,
- and it contains numerous improvements over the earlier versions which have
- been distributed. Nearly all of the originally planned functions are now
- implemented, and many bugs are gone.

- MCAD IS *SHAREWARE* -- TIM HAS *NOT* CRIPPLED THIS VERSION IN ANY
- WAY -- HE (AND I) TRUST THAT IF YOU FIND IT USEFUL, YOU WILL SEND
- HIM THE $20.00 THAT HE ASKS TO SUPPORT HIS EFFORTS. I SENT HIM
- $20.00 AND SOME SUGGESTIONS AND BUG REPORTS LAST WEEK AND, IN LESS
- THAN A WEEK, RECEIVED FROM HIM BY RETURN MAIL THIS UPDATED VERSION
- OF MCAD, THE C-LANGUAGE SOURCE TO MCAD (NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION),
- TWO OTHER PROGRAMS HE HAS WRITTEN, AND A *NICE* LETTER
- COMMENTING ON MY SUGGESTIONS. THIS IS A *VERY NICE* PROGRAM AND
- TIM IS EVIDENTLY ONE OF THE *GOOD* GUYS. IF YOU USE THE PROGRAM,
- PLEASE SUPPORT HIM. HIS ADDRESS:

-
- - mCAD.doc is documentation for mCAD, including instructions for use,
- glossary of commands, and notes on lingering bugs (darn few). Even though
- mCAD is very intuitive to use, probably best to read this before trying
- to use the program.
-
- - mCAD.rgb is a file from which mCAD gets its pen colors, and to which
- pen colors are saved (from inside mCAD).
-
- - mCAD.txt is used by mCAD to draw characters.
-
- - OptoDAC.cad is a sample drawing which can be loaded, modified,
- viewed, etc. using mCAD.
-
- - stage.cad is another sample drawing.
-
- - sendplt is used by mCAD to plot files on HP compatible plotters.
-
- - PART.ARC contains a series of files corresponding to parts used in
- the drawing OptoDAC.cad. See below instructions regarding what to do with
- this file.
-
- DISTRIBUTION
-
- Per Tim's wishes, all of the material in this ARC file may be
- distributed to anyone by anyone so long as no money is charged other than a
- nominal fee for duplication and handling. This README file identifying mCAD
- as SHAREWARE and providing Tim's address should accompany any such
- distribution.
-
- SETUP
-
- I recommend formatting a new disk named mCAD, or creating a directory
- called mCAD on a disk which has a lot of room left on it. Move all of the
- above described files except PART.ARC to that disk (directory). Create a
- subdirectory called Part (mandatory), and move PART.ARC into that directory.
- CD to Part, un-arc PART.ARC, then delete PART.ARC. CD /, and you're ready
- to rock. Don't forget to read mCAD.doc.
-
- Hope you have as much fun with this as I have.
