  6. What This Diskette Does
  7. -----------------------

  9. The Video Features Diskette II for Windows 3.1 enables drivers to:
  10.  - Improve the drawing performance on the display.
  11.  - Provide higher resolutions (up to 1280x1024 for the CRT).
  12.  - Provide various color depths (256, 64K, or 16M for the CRT).
  13.  
  14. The following models are supported:
  15.   - ThinkPad 760E(*1), 760EL(*2), and 760ED
  16.   - ThinkPad 560
  17.  
  18.      Note: (*1) The ThinkPad 760E that has XGA(1024x768) panel is
  19.                 supported.
  20.            (*2) The machine type 9547-x4G or 9547-x4T is supported.

  61.          while an AVI file is being played back with MediaPlayer.

  63.          when an AVI file is being played back on the CRT with 1024x768
  64.          resolution, 64K colors, and  43.5Hz frequency interlace.

  66.          file is being played whose video source size is 640x480, with
  67.          MediaPlayer featuring 800x600 resolution and 16M colors.

  69.          PaintBrush with 64K or 16M colors.

  106.          right with 640x480 and 256 colors on the LCD (800x600 TFT and
  107.          DSTN) panel.

  109.          A Windows general protection fault no longer occurs when an
  110.          MPEG file is played back using the Xing SoftMPEG player with
  111.          800x600 and 64K colors.
  112.  - (Fix) The refresh rate is no longer always set to 60Hz on the CRT
  113.          during the return to the Windows desktop from the DOS full
  114.          screen, after the display device has been changed to CRT-only
  115.          from LCD-only.
  116.  - (Fix) The refresh rate is now changed on the CRT during the return
  117.          to the Windows desktop from the DOS full screen, after the
  118.          refresh rate has been changed with the ThinkPad Features
  119.          program.

  121.          The screen is no longer corrupted during the return to the
  122.          Windows desktop from the DOS full screen after the display
  123.          device has been changed to LCD-only from CRT-only in the

  126.          to the DOS full screen after the display device has been
  127.          changed to LCD and the DOS window has been moved.
  128.          (This problem occurred only when the driver Version 1.01

  130.  - (Fix) The DOS full screen (VGA mode 00h, 01h, 04h, 05h, or 0Dh)
  131.          now synchronizes on TV (NTSC overscan or underscan mode).
  132.  - (Fix) The DOS full screen (all VGA modes) now synchronizes on
  133.          TV (PAL overscan or underscan mode).
  134.  - (Fix) The Windows desktop is no longer disturbed for a moment when
  135.          an AVI file is opened using MediaPlayer with 1024x768, 64K
  136.          colors, and 75Hz on the CRT.
  137.  - (Fix) The bottom line and the rightmost line are now displayed
  138.          when the virtual screen is used.
  139.  - (Fix) Pixels are no longer corrupted when the virtual screen is used

  142.          A hardware cursor no longer corrupts during the switch of the

  151.          The DOS full screen no longer blacks out during a repeat of the
  152.          switch between the DOS full screen and the Windows desktop.

  154.          expansion is toggled on and off while an AVI file is being
  155.          played back with MediaPlayer.
  156.  - (Fix) The overlay position no longer shifts during the return to the
  157.          Windows desktop from the DOS full screen with 1024x768/256
  158.          colors and 75Hz mode, or 1280x1024/256 colors and 43.5Hz
  159.          interlace mode.
  160.  - (Fix) The playback window no longer appears in unusual colors when
  161.          an AVI file is opened with a second MediaPlayer while an AVI
  162.          file is played back with the first MediaPlayer in 64K colors.
  163.  - (Fix) The overlay position no longer shifts during the switch of the
  164.          display device between TV and LCD when the LCD screen expansion
  165.          is enabled.
  166.  - (Fix) Characters are no longer broken in the DOS full screen after
  167.          you switch between the DOS full screen and the Windows
  168.          desktop by pressing the Alt+Esc keys.
  169.  - (Fix) (ThinkPad 560 DSTN model only)
  170.          The overlay position no longer shifts when an AVI file is
  171.          played back with 640x480 and 256 colors on the LCD.

  173.          Playback is now done with a hardware overlay when an AVI file
  174.          is played back using MediaPlayer with 1024x768 and 256 colors
  175.          or 64K colors on the CRT.
  176.  - (Fix) LCD screen expansion setting of the Windows desktop is now the
  177.          same as that of the DOS full screen.
  178.  - (Fix) The mouse trail is no longer corrupted with 800x600 and 64K
  179.          colors when a computer whose display memory size is 1MB is
  180.          used.

  183. Installation Guide
  184. ------------------
  185. 1. Start DOS and go to the Windows directory (usually C:ÆWINDOWS).
  186. 2. Type SETUP in the Windows directory and press Enter.
  187. 3. Using the cursor keys, highlight the Display field.
  188.    Then press Enter.
  189. 4. Select Other (Requires disk ...) in the list.
  190. 5. Insert the Video Features Diskette II for Windows 3.1 into the
  191.    diskette drive.
  192. 6. Make sure the path is A:Æ and press Enter.
  193. 7. Select your favorite resolution and color depth.
  194.    Then press Enter.
  195. 8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
