README FILE FOR OS/2 USERS
--------------------------
Users of OS/2 2.x using high screen resolutions (e.g. 1024x768x256 colors)
have always experienced annoyingly slow screen redraws in windowed DOS
sessions. This program will replace or supplement your ANSI.SYS screen
driver for faster screen redraws in DOS windows. On my system, I have
witnessed an increase to the magnitude of some 500%, when doing a DIR,
or a TYPE, or a MORE command. Character mode DOS programs also write
to the screen much faster.
The only restriction I have noticed is that you need to run the program
in a specific DOS session (i.e., you need to boot your DOS session from
a DOS disk image). The program will not work in a normal DOS session
because it keeps asking for a DOS version higher than DOS 2.0.
I have the program at the end of my AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and I use it
without any parameter.
e.g. "VIZ" (but you can also use "VIZ /Z+")
Although the author supplies an installation program "INSTALL.EXE",
the program does not require any installation. The only file that
is needed is the executable "VIZ.EXE". Just copy it into any directory
that is in the DOS path, and presto ...
Enjoy it (and register it!)
