- Vegan Co-housing Working Group
- Tel: (408) 454-9618, e-mail: 71053.2535@compuserve.com
- - A group, started by Billy Ray Boyd, planning to start a vegan
- community in Santa Cruz. The main goal of the project is to provide
- a psychologically comfortable and supportive haven for vegans.
- Co-housing combines privacy with shared living: each person or
- family has a separate apartment or house, and residents share a
- common room or building for community meals and activities. The core
- goals of the project are: all common meals must be strictly vegan;
- the project will be integrated into city life; and housing will be
- affordable, possibly on a rental or lease basis, to include people
- who can't afford to purchase a home. One can get around within Santa
- Cruz by bike, and the public transportation is very good. It may be
- several years before the community is actually started. Local people
