  74.      (adoptive), and Nola Orsini (who mistook him for her lost son).

  79. A:   Erica's father, and Mona's first husband.  He used to be a movie
  80.      director, then was a clown (Barney) after presumably dying in a car
  81.      accident, and then a board member of Enchantment.  After selling his
  82.      stock to Adam Chandler, he left town and broke Erica's heart
  83.      all over again.

  85.      Eric remarried Goldie Kane and they had a daughter, Silver.  Erica
  86.      never met them, and when Connie Wilkes showed up and pretended 
  87.      she was Silver.   She also had no idea that Noelle (Jeremy's 
  88.      mystery girl) was really her sister, either.  That is when she 
  89.      was kidnapped by Goldie and Dr. Lazar in some inheritance scheme.

  104. A:  Short answer:
  105.     Charlie's parents are Tara Martin and Philip Brent.  He thought his
  106.     father was Chuck Tyler, but later found out that Phil was his
  107.     biological father.  His real name is Philip Charles Brent.

  109.     Long answer:
  110.     Charlie (born Philip Charles Tyler) is the biological son of Tara
  111.     Martin and Philip Brent.  Tara and Phil were childhood sweethearts, 
  112.     who made love on the night before Philip went off to fight in Vietnam.  
  113.     Phil was declared missing in action, and Tara found out she was 
  114.     pregnant.  In desperation, she turned to Philip's best friend, Chuck 
  115.     Tyler, who was also in love with Tara, and the two were married.

  117.     When Philip Charles was born, everyone assumed that he was Chuck's 
  118.     son (although Chuck knew better).  Eventually, Philip returned, 
  119.     having been a prisoner of war.  It was finally revealed that "Little 
  120.     Phil" was his son.  Little Phil, who had grown up thinking Chuck 
  121.     was his father, refused to be known by that name any more, and took 
  122.     the name of Charlie Tyler.  Eventually, he was reconciled with Phil, 
  123.     and took the last name of Brent, but kept the name Charlie.

  136.     to a cabin to consummate their affair, but Ruth reconsidered at

  163. A:  Bobby is the son of Joe Martin and his first wife, Helen.  He
  164.     was sent to the attic to get some skis, and hasn't been heard 
  165.     from since.  He was on in 1970 only and apparently written
  166.     out because the writers had nothing for him storywise.

  168.     In an AOL (America On Line) interview in January 1995, 
  169.     Felicia Minei Behr, exec producer for AMC, said:
  170.     Bobby was a character talked about in the first few
  171.     weeks of January 1970, the character only appeared for one 
  172.     show, I think. During that show Doctor Martin, his father, 
  173.     told him to go up in the attic and wax his skies and he 
  174.     would be up in a minute. He was never seen again. 
  175.     Agnes [Nixon] decided it was one too many Martins to 
  176.     deal with and never referred to him except for one
  177.      letter from camp. He has become the missing link of the Joe
  178.      Martin clan and a source of amusement for all of us as 
  179.     well as many fans.

  181.     At one point in time (years after Bobby disappeared to the attic)
  182.     Opal Gardner Purdy (Cortlandt?) was locked in the Martin's attic.  She
  183.     was frightened by a skeleton.  Was it something from Joe Martin's med
  184.     school days, or was it the remains of Bobby?  Well - it was
  185.     wearing a ski cap that said "Bobby" on it!  Yet aother sly reference 
  186.     to Bobby was made by Jake (Joey Martin) on 10/31/97.  A skeleton 
  187.     was out at Myrtle's as a Halloween decoration.  Allie Doyle asked 
  188.     Jake if that was one of his patients and he said "he's just 
  189.     another one of my older brothers."

  194. A:  Brooke was raped by Eddie Dorrance (1980).  Tom's friend, 
  195.     Gil Barrett, tried unsuccessfully to rape Brooke (1983).  
  196.     Brooke was stalked by a weirdo named Harold, to the tune of 
  197.     "Every Breath You Take" (ca. 1985).

  200. Q:  How old is Kendall?
  201.  
  202. A:  As of 1993, she is 23.  The actress is about 16, though.

  204.     When Kendall first appeared on the show, she was depicted as a 
  205.     teenage runaway.  Once it was revealed that she was Erica's
  206.     daughter, there was a large outcry from the fans, due to major
  207.     continuity errors.  If Kendall was, say 16, and Erica was 16, 
  208.     or 15, or 14 when she was raped (TPTB keep changing this one too, 
  209.     but I think they've finally settled on 14), then Erica would 
  210.     only have been 30.  Since the show has been on for over 20 years, 
  211.     and Erica was a teen when the show started, the math is just 
  212.     too much to overlook.  So, TPTB "aged" Kendall overnight, and 
  213.     suddenly there were many references to the fact that she was 23,
  214.     old enough to drink, etc.  They started dressing her older and 
  215.     changed her makeup.  It is hard to suspend disbelief enough to 
  216.     make a 15-year-old girl be 23, but it is easier than believing 
  217.     that 44/45-year-old Susan Lucci is 30.

  219.     Update:  On April 14, 1995, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who plays
  220.     Kendall, turned 18.  Susan Lucci will be 47 on December 23, 1995.

  225. A:  No, they aren't.  Lucas Barnes is Terrence's natural father,
  226.     but he is only Taylor's _step_father.  Thus Terrence & Taylor
  227.     are not related by blood, though technically they are step-
  228.     siblings.

  231. Q:  How did Laura Cudahy die?

  233. A:   Laura was killed by Josh Waleski, an off-duty cop who had been 
  234.      partying at McKay's.  He ran her down with his car as she dashed 
  235.      across Maple Street from Barbara Montgomery's house to Laura's 
  236.      friend's house across the street.  Josh's blood-alcohol level 
  237.      was above the legal limit.  Barbara (who was in love with Tom at
  238.      the time) had been babysitting Laura, and Laura had fibbed to 
  239.      Barbara that she was allowed to cross the street alone.

  242. Q:  Who did Mona Kane kill?

  244. A:  Jason Maxwell, a boyfriend of Erica's who was trying to
  245.     promote Erica as a model, and who assaulted her.  Erica was 
  246.     still married to Jeff Martin and Jeff was standing trial for 
  247.     the murder.  Mona had completely blocked the killing out of 
  248.     her mind - she did it in self-defense, and it turned out to 
  249.     be an accident.
