  183.    Free Agent is a freeware off-line newsreader that is compatible
  184.    with the Winsock (Windows Sockets) standard.  It offers limited
  185.    send email capability, but does not receive email.

  187.    Agent is the registered version of Free Agent and contains many
  188.    new features, including POP3 or SMTP email reception, address
  189.    books, kill/watch lists, URL launching, and crosspost management.

  284.    AGENT WEENIE ALERT!  Do not ask this one in 
  285.    alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent or you will be labeled a
  286.    weenie for the rest of your natural life.

  289.    Dial-Up Networking (DUN).  You will have to make your connection
  290.    manually or upgrade to the 32-bit version.

  295.    Most likely problem, your (Free)Agent is 32-bit and your

  297.    You need to talk with your provider about switching to a 32-bit
  298.    winsock.  The Win95 Dial-Up Networking (DUN) comes highly

  303.    First, let me point out the difference between multi-user and
  304.    multi-instance.

  306.    Multi-user means two or more separate configurations for more
  307.    than one person; or, can also be one person who desires multiple
  308.    news servers.  This is easily done using any version of
  309.    (Free)Agent.

  313.    Multi-instance means more than one instance of a program actively
  314.    running at the same time.  For example, two copies, both

  488.    lives in your timezone.  (Free)Agent comes preconfigured to use
  489.    Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), also called Universal Time (UT), for
  490.    timestamping messages.

  492.    Your computer's internal clock is, usually, set to your local
  493.    time.  (Free)Agent, by default, converts to GMT when posting and
  494.    from GMT when reading.

  517.    This is an option in Agent called "MIME quoted printable" text.

  519.    The Internet, being a collection of different types of computers,
  520.    is limited to 128 different possible characters.  Now that the
  521.    Internet has gone global, there has entered a need for foreign
  522.    language support beyond the normal ASCII character set.
  523.  
  524.    Since it is not efficient to upgrade all the hardware on the
  525.    Internet at once, the "MIME quoted printable" system has been
  526.    implemented to "encode" extended characters and "decode" them on
  527.    the other end.  Your friend's computer is not decoding.

  529.    Agent currently does MIME quoted printable.  Free Agent does not.

  531.    Either your friend must get a program that correctly decodes, or
